Glad I saw this post. A cracking afternoon out. The course was very busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves with no trouble.

I'm closing in on 66 and an annual member at Ponty.

Yup, good crowd size yesterday which shows the bebfit in making admssion prices low, or even zero. I am sure a lot of the attendees spent money at the track.


BUT, Ponty do love a queue!! Long queues to get in yesterday and, it must be said, whatever the crowd size Ponty seem to get wrong the number of staff needed to cope with it!!

And, the afternoon was spoiled a bit by the high number of late non-runners. The going should have been given as 'good, good to firm in places' the day before, not after the second race. I am afraid that thiss another thing Ponty often misjudge - their going.
