Loughnane's suspension runs from April 9 to April 30, meaning he misses the three-day Craven fixture at Newmarket and Newbury's two-day Greenham meeting.

The trainer added: "We'll do everything in our power to assist Billy in any possible appeal because it's ridiculous in my opinion."

The rider returns on the first day of the Guineas meeting at Newmarket on May 1.

do well to get that reduced, if the vet says lame, it's a pretty dumb thing to do.

I think Billy will have a devil of a time reversing the stewards' decision.

He seems such a level-headed and intelligent young chap that it's easy to think there was a misunderstanding, however, it wouldn't be the first time young Billy has had a rush of blood to the head, as some may recall at Newcastle last season when he rode Orange Sky and wasn't subtle about stopping Dale Swift from getting through against the rail. Loughnane got an 11-day ban that day for "improper riding".

I wrote about it on another thread, others were scoffing, but blatant lying is now part and parcel of everyday life.
