Closing shops

And tomorrow, not a single one of the 4 meetings will show live horse racing.

Total disdain for his betting shop punters.

Take out the FOBT's and his shops would be like the Marie Celeste

Whilst I am hardly a fan of his,he is simply refusing to be "Bent Over" by the utterly rancid Rueben Brothers

Think the rest will follow suit. Data and media rights have spiralled well out of control. Arc could find themselves unable to fulfil fixtures for lack of prize money and owners not entering.

It would be in bigger disarray if Fred done hadn’t pulled the money up to sponsor all 5 classics.

Local shop tells me their punters watch races on their phones.

Kinda sums it up when you've got a race being run with no pictures or commentary.

Just someone doing the brunch time nifty fifty

We've only got a baldy shop in my town, and people are watching races on their phones, as suggested above...
However, in nearby Bridgwater, they have competition from 3 competitors within 30 yards...there's literally 4 bookies out of 10 shops...and my mate the manager in the baldy shop told me yesterday they are really struggling once the racing starts and they've got no pictures...all the race by race punters go next door
Fair play to Fred though for making a stand if he thinks ARC are asking too much for their pictures...I've been told other bookies are paying less than Fred is being asked to pay. Don't know if that's true

isnt it true indies pay more than the big firms?

there should be a reduction. otherwise there will be fewer and fewer and racing will end up with less and less because they are wildly over-charging

Will be in Freddo's for his bonus hour this morning. Always loads of value and will get BOG on all my multi-bets for todays racing.

Oh and X2 on my Lucky 15's, some firms only X1 on line.
