That explains it. I could not load the betfair website or forum for 20 minutes. I can't say I have any more interest in the 7.30 than any of the other races on the card. Definitely a no bet race.

Good luck Glasgow. CH will either win cosily or carry Oisin off the track and through the rails. He might even try to jump them. Some people seem to forget that he finished 5th of 6 on his last completed race over hurdles.

Commentators still only mentioning the falls and ignoring the 5th of 6 in Ireland which was rated 138. I could name a dozen horses that were very good but they don't get this much hype once they go down hill. He should still manage to win a maiden but not any value tonight. The real hype will begin if he wins 10 lengths.

I had a share in a horse called Faustino. He ran 5 times on the flat for Paul Cole and never in the first 6 and rated 60. After we bought him he won 4 races over hurdles and rated 120ish. Trainer then decided on a maiden handicap on the flat at Bath and he was made favourite. Tailed off after 5 furlongs in a 2 mile race! No hurdles to jump so downed tools.

Not many doubted his innate ability uptheirons, it was what was going on in his head that was in doubt for me. He clearly enjoyed the novelty of the occasion and loved winning on the snaff. Will he be in the same mood if taken back to Cheltenham and shown hurdles? I am happy as I have now unloaded a pre Fighting Fifth bet for Cheltenham at a small profit. At that point I thought that 5.6 was a fair price but I was delighted to get rid of it at 4 tonight. He is still far from a certain runner in 18 days time. He might be lame in the morning.

He runs alright. No doubt about that. What happens is anyone's guess.

Well as of 18:30 - the attendance is 3520.

there is still a doubt about any horse running slickster! Injury, cast in its box, sore shins, horse box breaks down, connections don't want to risk it, connections have a family bereavement, firm ground. Endless reasons every year why horses that have been backed down to a short price don't run. 18 days is a very short window after a run even an easy win.

He RUNS. Quite simple. Not saying he should but he runs. Otherwise what was the point of tonight???

I thought that the point was to find out if his enthusiasm was still there but also to find out if he has a future as a flat horse. At 9yo it won't be for more than a couple of seasons at most and Nicky says he is not one to be risked on summer turf unless very soft so he is likely to get a rest during June-September. There are plenty of hurdles left to jump (metaphorically) before the enormous hype from last night is justified. He won a 4yo+ novice race on the AW not a Group 1. I would not be the least surprised if he has sore shins this morning.
