haven't been on for a while but would like to share this, regular punter and lovely guy who bets on the dogs at £100 a pop, bets on one at the 15.07 Dunstall park a ton the stripes, it wins a photograph, the bets translated ready to pay out and get a phone call from India, yes India!!, there is 2 15.07 races one at Dunstall and one a virtual dog race yes you guess correct they say 50 on each, 2 hours later the guy is still waiting as no area manager was available to sort the issue, betting shops turn the lights out

Take a wild guess that the virtual stripes didn't win at 40/1 ....
If he never bets on vitual dogs they should pay in full. If he does then they have a case. But out of order having 2 dog races going off at the same time regardless whether real or not.
So anyone who's ever lost on a dog race that went off at the same time as a virtual race can retrospectively check back and see if the virtual runner won ?

i have bet for many years on course and only had 2 disputes with my account in both cases the bookies asked what figure i had was and in less than 1 minute they both said to their clerks, what figure he says is the figure we pay out

I have no doubt your example would be an accurate one ,one of the big problems not just in gambling is there nobody who is capable of making a sensible decision amongst the big organisations.

This one is clear cut, but even if not, an old area manager would pay him out rather than lose his business to a local rival shop
I recently had a Saturday afternoon lucky15 bet wrongly translated as 3 horses and a virtual horse, because the first few letters of the 4th horse's name, as it was being typed in, suggested a virtual nag...they couldn't understand when I said who would do such a bet...got corrected , but not the point

Presumably only time and trap number written on the ticket. Beggars belief as to how they have simultaneous scheduled off-time though. Must have been a balls up?
It's no balls up, they have so many virtual races every day, they couldn't fit them in unless they doubled up on times. They have the industry virtuals plus their own company virtual tracks.
Reg, on the hills epos system, when you type in the first 3 letters it brings up every horse, greyhound,virtual horse and dog running that day, which can be loads, you then need to select the right one from the list, mistakes can happen, with the wrong one selected as in your example. Missed translated bets costs the company fortunes, most common each way bets being selected as win only.

It’s a poor show when they’re trying to catch customers out like this. As already said though, just write a slip out better. Time and trap number, or even worse time and a number will leave themselves open to scrutiny. I’ve never wrote a bet out without putting the meeting on the slip.
When you see some of slips go through it makes you wonder how the cashier can even begin to translate them. It’s foolish not to write out a clear, concise bet. Stake. Meeting. Time. Name of horse or trap and number.

no reason to say oh it was meant for the virtual if that won..although the last 100 being a dog would surely overide the decision.
should be paid in full with a note to be more careful writing the slip out in future
