Jim Dale became the most successful of all the Carry on actors. After the films were long gone. Carved out a life and a career for himself in the U.S.A.
I always got the impression that Kenneth Williams was anything but a fan of his. Does anyone know? |
|
By:
carry on cleo was the best
some were rubbish, particularly the early ones |
|
By:
Little surprise you were thinking of Kenneth Williams Mitolo, probably Wilfred Pickles, Boy George et al as you got older?
|
|
By:
What a sad bsstrd you are Cagliari. Locked anybody up recently?
|
|
By:
You seem to be angry when truth is aired Honcho? I do hope the big chip on your shoulder is not too hot and burned you?
|
|
By:
No chip, no anger, no intel. A certain amount of boredom when you post. Have you? Locked anybody up recently? You were bragging about it recently.
Wasn’t Sutcliffe was it? Ten victims too late. |
|
By:
It would be laughable were it not so sad Honcho, you confuse your muddled head with reality. Not once in 21 years have I mentioned locking up a particular individual, unless you can prove different of course?
Only commented as you lost the plot with elise who simply gave you a chance to rectify your comment about Meg Nicholls riding and you went berserk with the language etc? |
|
By:
Sid James, mentioned a lot earlier, had quite a life
I read a biography about him, and hope I remember correctly.. Was born in South Africa, had a job in the Johannesburg stock exchange in the 1930s where he committed some sort of massive fraud...had to leave the country quickly and came to the UK...started his acting career late 1940s, had never acted before ... Was in his 50s when started getting with Babs Windsor Was an interesting read |

Not so different today. James Bond falls out of aeroplanes into rivers , but he's ok. Heroes run away from blokes with machine guns , they miss. A fella in Emmerdale had an axe buried in his back but he was fine a week later walking about. Everyone who has a secret gets injured and goes into a coma so they can't tell.
My favourite ( was in Happy Valley and others ) is where a villain dowses his victim in petrol and threateningly waves a match close to them. In reality the fumes would ignite and blow them to eternity. A small one that always gets me is , have directors never used binoculars.? When an actor looks through them we always get a view with two joined circles. In fact , you see just one big one. |

In almost every movie and TV show- The empty coffee cups they pretend to drink out of does my head in,carrying 4 cups on a tray we can see they're feather weight but they all take a slug anyhow.

You been on the juice Cagliari? LH...the bloke is clearly unwell and forgets all the lies he posts. Army Tuna Molerat Grandkids worth £64k The Amalfi Coast The yachts. His bets/returns. The operations. The organs he has had removed. Woe is me.... ![]() The list genuinely goes on. He has been on this forum for years.......desperate to be liked.....types like a normal person in the morning attempting to be friendly and inquisitive then the booze and loneliness kicks in about 1830 and he types like he lives alone smashed on a bottle of some cheap filth. |

Looks like you need some counselling along with Honcho, Horatio. Between you seeking attention when you think there will be no reply, you appear on multiple threads daily as well as starting them, maybe you have aspirations for when you grow up and this is just a phase?
