The buzz is the answer to all tbh……like i say fatality one race and punter searching the boards for a price half an hour later…..

45 years I’ve witnessed it,never changes…..

Does anyone on here know a person who has walked away from the game because they witnessed a fatal fall….?

As I said earlier form - if we were considered hypocrites for betting, then surely people such as trainers or jockeys are far bigger ones. They may shed tears but continue to use this as their profession each day.

Exactly stu,and moderate horses receive crocodile tears or no tears, apart from the young females who are sincere towards their horse…

didnt the potters sell al, thier horses giving injuries/deaths as part of the reason, and as usual irons missing the point completely,if you dont like it walk away, the horse dont get that choice,
to quote the sports chief tv cheer leaders chamberpot and lukey and they thought they were defending it and the words were doing the game a favour like a heavyweight boxing match

THIS SPORT IS BRUTAL AND FALLS, DEATHS ARE  PART AND PARCEL OF IT
oily bell and the lady on this morning trying to sell the sport didnt use those words, they banged on about speed dating and getting pished

1st time thinker is Thicker than an elephant's trunk.
Not content with wrongly criticising Cobden for KDB's fall where his stupidity beggared belief he carries on regardless.
As I asked you earlier, how could Cobden or any other jockey who has ever ridden prevent the horse taking off too early.
I await your "knowledgeable responseLaugh

Always very sad when a loved animal dies.
The difference with race horse casualties is that they lose their lives forced to do something to give us pleasure.

And enough of the "they live in luxury" b@llsh@t

I work in a industry where over 20 people DIE every day.
Hundreds more injured every day.
People live & die for no reason.
Animals the same.
We gamble on horses WINNING not dying.

It was dreadful. The visual will remain with me for a while. Maybe a delay in tv transmission could be adopted; the tv pictures are several seconds late.

But, I've virtually stopped punting. I'm still watching though. If only greyhound tracks were still available in London eg White City, Harrigay, Walthamstow, Wembley or Wimbledon. I'd go greyhound racing regularly given I'm a pensioner now.

If only people could see the amount of abandoned dogs/cats that are put to sleep every month after being admitted to an animal shelter, would they then call for the abolition of keeping dogs or cats as pets.
They cant keep them all that cant be rehomed.

Do camels ever keel-over in a S Arabia camel race? I heard it's a delicacy in the Middle Eastern countries similar to horse meat in France and doggie meat in Korea.

The concepts of animal welfare or RSPCA care in many other countries would quite literally be completely alien to them...

Freddie Gordon and Summer in Milan on the deck at Fontwell.

Are we going to have to endure every horse fatality with suitable hand wringing on here?
Nobody likes to see it but it is inevitable in NH Racing.

When: 11 Jan 26 21:11
To be frank, bit by bit, I’m starting to lose interest in Racing, full stop.  It is on its way imo out and the nonsensical trash and mush we keep getting shovelled at us by Chamberlin’s is an ingredient in that.  Last week, the day after Ian Balding passed, Andrew had a run-of-the-mill winner and he came out with the most sycophantic pyysh, as if to convince us that fate had given him that winner on this day!  And this Love Actually choite,……..Add in the sharp practices of trainers and jockeys in an era with more visual televising and recording evidence than ever and the attraction begins to erode away.
