The Beatles, they did it all in seven years

Debateable, in that, their early writings were aimed at 14-16 year old girls with groupie inclinations towards older boys.  'Love Me Do' 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' 'She Loves You' etc.  didn't take much to write those, like so many others of the time, they knew their 3 minute market.
They got more sophisticated as they got older.

Did it all in 7 years, and Pandora still banging on about it for following 50 years. The Stones still going strong Pandora not 7 year wonders but they were really good i admit.

Time will tell, Mozart's stuff has been around nearly 3 hundred years.

Both fab bands....but dont ever forget that Jagger and Richards sat in a corner whilst Lennon and Mcartney penned 'I wanna be your man' for them in about 10 minutes, became the Stones first top 20 hit.

If you want to know how quickly the Beatles developed and became ahead of their time and miles  ahead of the rest of the pack just listen to Tomorrow Never Knows on the Revolver album - then remember that it was made 60 years ago……

Chuck Berry didn’t think a lot of them.  There was a summer they seemed to bring out instant No.1’s every month.  I remember Bongo having his hair clipped by a fan in the U.S. on the airport tarmac.  Nobody thought anything of it at the time.  Fans got away with just about anything at that time.  Then we had 8th Dec. 1980.

I'm a big Beatles fan but have to concede - did they ever do anything superior to Gimme Shelter and Sympathy For The Devil?

While the Stones were coming up with those humdingers, the Beatles were churning out Why Don't We Do It In The Road, Polythene Pam and She Came In Through The Bathroom Window

I think the Stones were the better group by the end of the '60s.

not a fan of theirs at all and there is a valid arguement that George Harrison was the most talented of the 4 as his contribution as well as solo material has stood the test of time better than others.

Always two different camps as I recall , fwiw Beatles wrote Stones first record  and Stones first hit was a cover .

The Kinks and Ray Davies wrote and made a lot of great music, Waterloo Sunset one of my all time favourites, as good as any of those Beatles ballads imo.
