ITV is incredibly sexist. The men can be a old as the hills, clowns and buffoons, but the ladies all have to be young fashion models.

Why do they have to be ex jockeys? ITV are fond of chasing after older ladies in the paddock, wasting their time and ours, just to fill in for 2 minutes, but they'd never have them fronting the programme. Lots of knowledgeable older women out there, been in racing a long time, but their voices are rarely heard, as their faces cannot be seen for more than 2 minutes.

Pretty privilege is in our DNA. Broadcast television is at least in part, aesthetically based. You don't think that Chris dude ex Love Island got the gig on itv due to his breadth of knowledge all things racehorse. Do you? It's not like it's populated with a load of OAP boomers. Female or male.
