I went for Kylie Minogue Prosecco this year, unsurprisingly. I've drank it before, it's actually rather good! Quite sweet, which wouldn't be everyone's favourite.

A few weeks ago, I was talking to someone in the posh booze trade and aiui, champagne has three problems:-
1. at the top end, English Sparkling Wine is better 2. at the bottom end, prosecco is cheaper (a lot cheaper) and sweeter so tastes better to young girls/women 3. what President Trump calls the climate change hoax has not been kind to French vineyards which are often too hot and too dry for significant parts of the year

Also aiui and to back up Cider's point, Kylie is one of the few celebrities with any form of quality control on the deals she makes, so for wine, whether pink, white, fizzy or flat, the Kylie label is a safe choice for an above-average bottle at an affordable price.

I'll throw in a nice red at a bargain price, Mucho Mas vino tinto. Not sure if Sainsbury offer is still on but I paid about six quid a bottle for six. I'd think it was nice at 12 quid.

On my part, it was just coincidence that my default is to go lowest price first when internet shopping, looking for prosecco and it was her branded one on promo. The customer feedback was strong so gave it a whirl, @£7 or so won't be the end of the world if it's rank. Probably beat any sparkling wine I've tasted. I have a huge sweet tooth, so I loved it but I know some people prefer dry. Another coincidence, she won me a tidy sum this week, so what better way to celebrate over the next week or so :)

My fav sparkling is a semi fizzy prosecco, or if no food involved then an asti martini does the job.
Pre food I don't mind a dry fizz, but wouldn't pay a premium for champagne.
Indeed a glass of Fino sherry my fav aperitif.

Co-op Les Pionniers Champers is one of the best Supermarket Champagnes, made for them by Piper Heidseick. It is good value at £22 but on/from 27/12 it will be on special offer, expected like last year to be £15. Re English Fizz, I live next door to one of the best Sussex Sparkling vineyards. Love their stuff but for Christmas it has to be Champers. At higher end, my favourites are Pol Roger (Winstons favourite) and Ayala.
