to delete cache and cookies, i was told to press ctrl+alt+shift, but don't know where shift is on my computer, I know it may look stupid but I haven't a clue. cheers.

I use chrome.
Open google up.
Click the three dots at the top right.
Delete browsing data.
Will be slightly different on different browsers.
