They won’t want to ruin Saturday ground. Most likely move Shloer Chase and maybe Novice 3miler to Sat.
|
|
By:
probably move the big races to saturday then the sun will shine and the obstacles wont be able to be jumped
|
|
By:
Not very good if you have a runner Friday called of to safe Saturday

From the weather forecasts I'm seeing... All the heavy wind and rain over by the morning
And I'd be surprised if the going was worse than Soft Maybe wrong, hope not for racegoers, connections, but if there was a "meeting to go ahead" market, like the old days, I'd be a 1.2 or better backer |

LIVENo inspection planned at Cheltenham despite potential for 20mm-plus of rain and overnight going change

Such amounts would have a major impact on ground described as good to soft, soft in places, both today and for the rest of the weekend. Speaking at 8am, Pullin said: "We had the 7mm overnight until 5.30am and we've had another 1mm since, and the course has taken it really well. However, the updated forecast this morning is still indicating significant rainfall with a total of 20mm and more potentially up to the end of the day, so we're expecting some heavier rain this morning and during racing. We'll just have to monitor conditions as we go. "We're not seeing any issues with the wind but again we'll have to monitor it. The team did a great job yesterday going round putting extra supports on wings and things like that." There had been concerns with weather warnings for rain and wind in place for much of England and Wales, but the going is good to soft, soft in places with no inspection planned. A morning update from Cheltenham read: "Following 7mm of rainfall overnight, the going is good to soft, soft in places and the course is raceable. "There are currently no inspections planned. However, there is significant rainfall forecast through the day and we will continue to monitor conditions." Racegoers have been reminded to dress appropriately for the weather. Basically, you'll need your big coat. |

Should be ok for most of the meeting. Looking at the Met Office rainfall map the heaviest rain is due to fall later during the meeting. That could make Saturday tricky.
