Their canal programmes were a delight.  Just enjoying togetherness in their old age.  God rest their souls.

Only 24 hours before she died I had a look at her Wiki page and thought 93 years old and still going strong.  Watched an episode of The Saint called "The Ex-King of Diamonds" which followed the darts final on Sunday.  It was gambling related.  I was curious to see who might still be alive.  It starred Isla Blair, who is, and her Wiki Page mentioned Prunella Scales.  So clicked on Prunella.  A great life well lived.  RIP

She was excellent as the youngest daughter in Hobsons Choice when very young herself.  You almost see the seeds of Sybil in her performance.

Wonderful, wonderful Sybil, so sad to see Prunella depart to join marvellous Manuel,  bolshy chef Terry, the lovable barking-mad Major, devious  deaf Mrs Richards and workshy Mr O'Riley. Farewell  lovely Sybil, say a big thank you from me to all of them. RIP.

The so called Alzheimers has always been here for "cranky" older people

How stupid and insensitive do you need to be to use "so called" and "cranky" in a post about Alzheimers?  Just wondering?
Report uptheirons October 29, 2025 7:10 PM GMT
Before it was known as such, that is what people thought o people ,blackbarn.
No offence was intended.
People now have an unrealistic view on how long they should live.
The Bible said, three score years and ten.
Now when somebody dies at 93 they feel robbed

That's a very insensitive post UTirons, my mate died at about 63 from picks disease, a form of dementia but had an awful last 4/5 years. My ex wife now has alzheimer's disease, diagnosed at 65 but probably showing symptoms for 18 months prior to that.
If you think this disease has any relationship to being a cranky old person then you are badly informed, i wouldn't wish it on anyone.
