Mr Southgate was pants. Mr Southgate had the best English team for a long while with some of the best players in the world and Europe. Mr Southgate also had the luck of easy passages in major tournaments eg Euros and World cups. But, repeatedly failed at the crucial stages of any tournament eg 1/4 and 1/2 Finals in Euros and World Cups. He lost two Euro Finals consecutively, with the best English team.

I'd disagree. Mr Southgate had the best England team with several players playing at their peak in the Premiership and big European clubs at a time where Germany and France were in decline; Spain was the only exception.
