You would think that the owner or trainer might have mentioned their demise and released a press statement as to what unfortunate accident may have occurred. The fact that these horses were of little ability would make me slightly concerned, if they had been some of the owners top horses surely an announcement would have been made.

Thousands of racehorses are euthanised annually and/or disposed of because of lack of speed. Do they not matter as much as these two? If so, why no fuss about them?

Think there was a TV documentary a few years ago, about the amount of young 1 or 2 yo horses that were sent straight to the abattoir as the breeders couldn't sell them. Must be a limit to the amount of people with money to spare to keep horses in training. At the end of the day they're a commodity and if the only money you can get back is for horsemeat then i guess thats it.
