A major investigation is under way to gather information about a businessman living with his family outside Cork City who is at the centre of a fraud and money laundering probe.
The Nigerian national, who has Irish citizenship and has been living here for 20 years, was “unknown” to gardaí prior to intelligence of widescale suspect ATM withdrawals that led to his arrest.
Detectives are trying to break into his phones — a process that can take some time — and are conducting inquiries to figure out if the man is linked to the infamous Black Axe gang or some other international fraud network or if he is running his own outfit.
He was arrested last Saturday under special gang legislation which allows for arrest — on applications to the courts — for up to seven days.
In linked operations last Saturday and Monday, officers from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) seized more than €320,000 in cash and recovered almost 60 fraudulent bank cards, around 20 false identity documents and a large number of mobile phones.
€750k withdrawn from ATMs over two weeks
It is estimated €750,000 was withdrawn from ATMs in just the last two weeks, but gardaí do not yet know if that is a typical two-week period for this gang.
The money — suspected to be from business email fraud and other frauds carried out around the world — is lodged into accounts, primarily in Poland, and then withdrawn in Ireland.
The main suspect, aged in his 30s, has a home with his wife on the outskirts of Cork, where they have a number of children.
It is understood he has Irish citizenship and has been living here for 20 years. He has a business in Cork and also works a number of days in a major tech company in Dublin.
He was arrested by GNECB officers in Lucan, west Dublin, last Saturday, after withdrawing cash and returning to his car. Around €17,000 in cash was recovered from the car.
Gardaí also searched a property in Dublin, where they arrested a woman. A Nigerian national, she is suspected of being brought in to help with the withdrawals. Nothing was found in her home and she was released.
Gardaí then searched the man’s home, just outside Cork City, and seized almost €70,000 in cash, 57 bank cards and false IDs.
Gardaí identified the man rented a room in an apartment in Lucan and searched that on Monday. They recovered almost €237,000 in cash, along with nine passports, five driving licences, and three identity cards.

What should happen, in my view, is that the government, however precedental it may be, should initiate a state of emergency of this boats from Europe situation, because that is what it is becoming.  That can’t be disputed in my view.  Then, the first thing they should do within that state of emergency is suspend their attachment/commitment to the EHCR.  Immediately they would be able to act out U.K. policy in line with what we all expected Brexit to achieve, which is U.K. self determination.
If there are legal drawbacks, overcome them.  Do what the people want, or reap a whirlwind of serious civil unrest.

Net migration figure is a distraction if it's affluent people being swapped for those who will be supported by the remaining taxpayers. And as I stated, we don't keep proper records of foreigners leaving, so it's a finger in the air.

The distinction between the two however is that legal immigration is nominally, entirely in the gift of elected politicians. They just don't carry out the repeated mandates they were elected on.

Keep in mind:
there are 40,000 children on creche waiting places.

The majority of these companies operate with 50%+ net profit margins within complex tax-efficient structures to avoid paying as little tax as possible.

Of particular note is "Didean Dochas Eireann Teoranta" a company set up to purchase single houses across the midlands to provide own door accommodation. The houses it buys with tax payers money do not belong to the State. Instead they are held by an Isle of Man company. They compete in the market directly against first time buyers and ordinary tax payers. WILD.

I will never stop calling this out.

I heard earlier "one in, one out" is an exchange eg an illegal here (from France) for one from France who's applying for asylum for the UK. However, it's not constrained by one for one at any one time eg it could be 15 for 7, but eventually or at a set point there will be an equilibrium between the UK and France.
