Why do 365 think they can get this beat? I know I don't trust this yard a yard, but this is the Arc favourite against second division opposition in a race she has won before. It would be a pathetic performance not to win. It shouldn't even be a struggle.

Don't think it's always a point of it getting beat dd from their point of view , if you can get 1.6 elsewhere they're only giving £4 per tenner away and with the combination of anticipated new accounts together with some now expected loyalty i'd say they'll it's a winner for them either way.
Report freddiewilliams September 6, 2025 1:03 PM BST
They want u betting. It's a suck in
Report Hayden September 6, 2025 1:19 PM BST
Of course Freddie to a degree , they don't mind giving an extra £4 away for those restricted to a tenner and also happy to give an extra £16 away to those with sufficient business mix to qualify for £40 but long term they win either way , when the business mix ceases to exist and punters are just taking the offers they'll get knocked down to a quid , impossible123 fell into this exact category.

If you asked all the traders involved in creating this offer i'd imagine the vast majority would think it's a winner hence the comments that it's about giving something positive and attractive primarily for their loyal customer base with an acceptable business mix as opposed to having any real opinion that the horse will win or not , if it does win the so called cash losses will be peanuts in comparison to the days business volume plus they'll have a happy customer base of which the vast majority will be punting on the site all day anyway.

Good luck today all   Happy

Report Storm Alert September 6, 2025 1:46 PM BST
Colin Keane often seems to get beat on these fancied horses and a bookies benefit. I suspect his brain is only big enough to ride to plan A and can't assess what's happening during the race. In that race the pace was setup for Giavellotto, the stayer, he was never going to get past him with that pace and for some reason always seemed to be giving ground to the winner. Oisin Murphy in a different league.

Not the first time that a top filly has gone backwards from 3yo to 4yo but the winner was only rated 2lb behind her. I didn't back in the race today but have a bet on Kalpana for the Arc and only softer ground might give her any chance there now.

The KG was a very good run but she has still been beaten in all of her runs at 4. Admittedly she might have been flattered by the win at Ascot in the Filles and Mares. When you look back she didn't beat any Group 1 horses there.

I did say that Kalpana was a ridiculous price on the ante-post thread. She came to win, and the winner was far more resolute. It looked to me as if she dogged it. Terrible performance. Murphy should know plenty about getting Kalpana beat given he has a 100% record of doing just that.

Andrew Balding reveals Kalpana no longer a certain runner in the Arc after shock odds-on defeat at Kempton

Andrew Balding believes that despite a fourth loss of the campaign, Kalpana will be "spot on" for her next assignment, though her participation in France has yet to be 100 per cent confirmed.
He said: "We're disappointed not to win but the horse who beat us is very good. She's having a proper blow now, so hopefully that will put her spot on for what we're doing. We didn't want it to be a falsely run race and it wasn't, it was a nice even pace. She had every chance, a good horse has beaten her and she'll come on for the run.
"We need to discuss plans. She's in the Arc and the Fillies & Mares and it's up to where the powers at be want to go. This was a prep and the Arc was always the plan, but we'll just have to see how the fields develop. She'd had a couple of easy weeks after the King George. She's a big filly now and she'll come on for that.
"I felt like we'd done enough work but the trouble is we're not using grass gallops at the moment, the all-weather is much easier and it's more difficult to get work into horses like that."

Oisin Murphy has been booked to ride Japanese Stayer:

As in Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh, in the month of February, Byzantine Dream will be selected in the Prix Foy and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe by Oisin Murphy.

Alohi Alii, who flew over the Prix Guillaume d'Ornano on 16 August under the saddle of Christophe Lemaire is not the only Japanese competitor to aim for the Holy Grail, namely the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on the first Sunday of October. Owned by Kazumi Yoshida, the 4 years old Byzantine Dream, who finished second in Redentor in the Tenno Sho (Gr. I) at the beginning of May, will also try to take on the ultimate challenge by being associated, and this is the news of the day, with the Irish jockey Oisin Murphy. After his quarantine period, this protégé of Tomoyasu Sakaguchi should be aligned in the Prix Foy on September 7 – a group previously kidnapped by his compatriots Deep Bond (2021), Orfèvre (2012-2013) and El Condor Pasa (1999) – before participating in the most prestigious event of the French program. Oisin Murphy knows Byzantine Dream, having won on his back at the group II level in Riyadh in February.

From the AP ARC thread. That was planned since Riyadh.

I don’t know about you guys but gut plays a big part in my punting, the little details. Picking up on vibes etc… it did seem odd that Murphy had made that commitment such a long time ago.

The Japanese were written off almost instantly this year, yet we’ve all known it to be an open Arc.

They only need a bit of luck with the ground and come with their biggest contingent this year.

They’ve now run in and won two.

Crox Du Nord their Derby winner next week but with a penalty and over 10f.
Report Delashay September 7, 2025 4:30 PM BST
Will they come forwards? That’s the big question as they’ve always gone backwards after a first up run and win.

Their mindset seems to win the trail means you have a chance in the big one. I don’t speak Japanese otherwise I’d tell them! No, no no! Grin

CP Lemaire said that they are better with a short stay running off the plane.
