Why do 365 think they can get this beat? I know I don't trust this yard a yard, but this is the Arc favourite against second division opposition in a race she has won before. It would be a pathetic performance not to win. It shouldn't even be a struggle.

Don't think it's always a point of it getting beat dd from their point of view , if you can get 1.6 elsewhere they're only giving £4 per tenner away and with the combination of anticipated new accounts together with some now expected loyalty i'd say they'll it's a winner for them either way.

Of course Freddie to a degree , they don't mind giving an extra £4 away for those restricted to a tenner and also happy to give an extra £16 away to those with sufficient business mix to qualify for £40 but long term they win either way , when the business mix ceases to exist and punters are just taking the offers they'll get knocked down to a quid , impossible123 fell into this exact category.

If you asked all the traders involved in creating this offer i'd imagine the vast majority would think it's a winner hence the comments that it's about giving something positive and attractive primarily for their loyal customer base with an acceptable business mix as opposed to having any real opinion that the horse will win or not , if it does win the so called cash losses will be peanuts in comparison to the days business volume plus they'll have a happy customer base of which the vast majority will be punting on the site all day anyway.

Good luck today all   Happy

Used to be able to get a tenner on Bet365 boosts. Not a prolific backer of them at all. Just tried backing Kalpana and the max stake is now a quid lol

That's why they should be going for the Arc with Ombudsman. It looks the weakest Arc I've ever seen and his class will negate the stamina doubts

Colin Keane often seems to get beat on these fancied horses and a bookies benefit. I suspect his brain is only big enough to ride to plan A and can't assess what's happening during the race. In that race the pace was setup for Giavellotto, the stayer, he was never going to get past him with that pace and for some reason always seemed to be giving ground to the winner. Oisin Murphy in a different league.

Andrew Balding with the favourite for the Arc - must have looked like a bad renewal for a long time.

Not the first time that a top filly has gone backwards from 3yo to 4yo but the winner was only rated 2lb behind her. I didn't back in the race today but have a bet on Kalpana for the Arc and only softer ground might give her any chance there now.

It seems crazy that a horse beaten 3 times was fav, they don’t have another runner so may well still go?

Won’t be carrying mine either! Seemed odd that Murphy had been booked for that Japanese horse so long ago.

The KG was a very good run but she has still been beaten in all of her runs at 4. Admittedly she might have been flattered by the win at Ascot in the Filles and Mares. When you look back she didn't beat any Group 1 horses there.

Having reconsidered Giaveltto was a pretty good bet @ 9/4 this morning. Got sucked in my Bet365 evens.

You'll never know with Balding junior you'll not be able to tell if he did enough with her or not. Had the favourite for the Arc god help us

I did say that Kalpana was a ridiculous price on the ante-post thread. She came to win, and the winner was far more resolute. It looked to me as if she dogged it. Terrible performance. Murphy should know plenty about getting Kalpana beat given he has a 100% record of doing just that.

A stable that rewards study Frogger. 3yos having their first 4 runs are the ones to back. The 2yos are a lot better than they used to be though.

Andrew Balding reveals Kalpana no longer a certain runner in the Arc after shock odds-on defeat at Kempton

Andrew Balding believes that despite a fourth loss of the campaign, Kalpana will be "spot on" for her next assignment, though her participation in France has yet to be 100 per cent confirmed.
He said: "We're disappointed not to win but the horse who beat us is very good. She's having a proper blow now, so hopefully that will put her spot on for what we're doing. We didn't want it to be a falsely run race and it wasn't, it was a nice even pace. She had every chance, a good horse has beaten her and she'll come on for the run.
"We need to discuss plans. She's in the Arc and the Fillies & Mares and it's up to where the powers at be want to go. This was a prep and the Arc was always the plan, but we'll just have to see how the fields develop. She'd had a couple of easy weeks after the King George. She's a big filly now and she'll come on for that.
"I felt like we'd done enough work but the trouble is we're not using grass gallops at the moment, the all-weather is much easier and it's more difficult to get work into horses like that."

I have always been sceptical about the enthusiasm for her.  Another great reason to avoid ante-post froth about anything imv.
