brother to top class hukum as well among others on breeding could be special but Messi,s brother couldn't get a game for the dog and duck and a few in there who could put it up to the burrows hoss on paper might be a watching race but very interesting.
Whippin Piccadilly • July 29, 2023 1:47 PM BST Hukum for me here. Excellent comeback win over what I consider the most impressive Derby winner for some time. The money around for Desert Crown tells me he was more than ready for the race at Sandown. But for me Hukum looked the winner someway out that day and he would have a been a very unlucky loser if Jim hadn't got him out in time.
Trip, track and going all spot on (hope it stays on the softish side of good) I get a feeling this lad is now at his peak and he's won't be the first Sea the Stars to get better with age. With the going now drying out, I've had something on Plyedriver too.
Looks a special race on paper, really looking forward to it.

I was there today, and although not paddock judge expert, this horse looked utterly magnificent. Quite big, compared to others, and I thought a bit narrow at the front. Sheikh Hissa and Angus Gold were there for a Friday afternoon. I would be surprised if this horse was not very good indeed. Be really interesting to see where they go. Horris Hill? Doubt if they will go to G1 as a 2yo. He could easily carry the weight in a novice but are they nearly finished? I will be following this horse.

as I say Loyal, I don't profess to be any judge but I did look very closely at him today (stops me drinking!). His back was wider than his front is what I am trying to say! I notice from the RP (which I read after my post) that they are not willing to go too high this year. Royal Lodge not at the front of their minds. They say 10f-12f horse. Given his breeding, there may be worse 33/1 shots for Epsom tbh. May throw a few £ on it.

For me that was the most impressive performance of the Flat season thus far. There were some fine performances at Newmarket & Newbury but that performance surpassed them all. Love the way he travelled into the race and then knuckled down and hit the line strongly. He didn't even take a blow after the race

RAAHEEB produced one of the best performances in the Classic Trial this century, running to a Timeform rating of 119p.
A brother to Baaeed & Hukum; he's a potentially top-class colt in the making.

Angus Gold, Shadwell Racing Manager, “I have had a long discussion with Owen Burrows regarding Raaheeb’s participation in the Derby after his impressive victory at Sandown last week.”
“Owen said that the horse had been stiff for a couple of days following the race, but whilst routine x-rays have revealed nothing untoward, he will have to give the horse a bit more time to get over the race before he goes back into full training. Consequently, Owen feels he will not be able to have him in peak condition for the Derby; therefore, sadly, the decision has been made to bypass Epsom and give Raaheeb the time he needs, and we hope to have him ready for important targets later this summer.”
