Thought this might be an interesting topic for forum members to discuss

When looking for BETTING ANGLES with punting horses i.e. the approach , how far/deep or even simply.....do you go about your decision making - what makes some angles stronger than the other

Extensive study? Narrowing Down? preparation? ...any planning element? Unorthodox or extremely simple factors but unconventionally applied? Breaking with convention or tradition, more independent behavior or thought?

Come to each race afresh and ask what sort of horse it will take to win the race, and take it from there.

with race study, I find if you can get 4 right angles it should square things up.

sometimes you may need to go back to square one.

Trainers like Julia Feilden( Birkett racing) are quite forthcoming  gave Rushden  Boy in the last and says Mrs Meader in three weeks time at Bath.

Obviously if memory is a problem 3 weeks is an eternity Cry

That Mrs Meader won an amateur's jockey race at Bath last Sept (14th) / 11.5 f.
Won off 54 (placed off 52 last time out).
Wins with juice in the ground. We're getting rain on and off for a while.
Aimed at the same race?

Could well be leif.

Same 'Signs Express' sponsored race scheduled for 19:15, on 13th September.

'For horses which haven't won in 2025' no doubt.
Mr Birkett will likely be atop.
As it finished runner-up last time the rep won't be questioned as to the, 'apparent improvement in form', should it prevail again.

Extensive study does manifest angles imo , some unconventional and are somewhat hidden- totally agree

In my experience , i dont even get to that stage unless i have some deeper insight on a yard/horse on the day. To some degree i wont even look at the other horses if i believe my horse is there to land a touch. This is where you have to be with a yard who you know are better than average at landing touches

What about reading race cards on the day? clues to be had?

Angle - 5.10 Eden Storm, second time cheekpieces, drop in trip, let see.
Report Rockface September 2, 2025 3:17 PM BST
one angle on the day is very simple - have to choose the spots carefully though  - tends to work more within maidens with many unraced  , or hcap debuts

That is where an owner or trainer has a fancied one the card from a market perspective, short priced fav/2nd fav etc , but has a big priced one on the same card - not one to be solely looking at from a single perspective per say......but one to potentially use to compound your interest/ get more stake down on the horse you may have planned out on the day from your own long term study.
