It certainly is. You can get into the parade ring where there are lots of trees for the shade. I've backed a good winner in the second race so am showing a nice profit over the three days. No more bets today. I'll resume again at Deauville demain!

I have a horse running at Dough Ville tomorrow.

Only been to the old longchamp in France but keep thinking about trying a few others ,hope you enjoy your trip clerkmore how would you compare it with the uk experience going racing ?

Hi jimnast. Good to hear from you. To be honest, probably pricewise there's no comparison. For Sunday's card it was 10 euros for entrance, 8 if you're over 60. I love in the UK and ordinary meetings are a ripoff. When I was going into Clairefontaine yesterday, some old bird gave me two free tickets to Deauville racecourse. I was suspicious but lo and behold today I got free admission.

In fairness, a lot of the racing today was handicaps. If you're not watching French racing normally it would be boring. But there's nothing to compare with the food etc here. I'm staying a few miles south at Pont L'eveque and the food is superb! Bon Appetit!

Live in the Uk

I went to Lyon Parilly last year to watch our horse run...free entry for all and wander anywhere..paddock and stables included..very nice

The last time I was in Pont-l'Eveque, I made a big mistake buying the cheese and shoving it in the boot of my car for the journey back home. It took me 2 weeks to get rid of the stink in the car!

Thanks for the reply clerkmore France is a place I really don’t know which is criminal for someone who loves food ,I get what you say about it could be boring I’ve been racing in other countries and to be honest have been board with it as I don’t know the horses ,hopefully next year I’ll make a trip to France and will remember not to bring any cheese back.
