Alex Bird said pro gambling was over in the 80's

Alex was wrong as nowadays there’s more pro gamblers than soldiers in the Chinese army.

I'd love to hear how they will work out what to tax...in detail....
|
|
By:
There are no proposals to tax punters as far as I am aware?
|
|
By:
A big, big tax hike is coming for the bookmakers. Perhaps much higher than the expected 25%.
They will like winners even less then. Expect higher over rounds with sp's tightened up even more at the lower end. No concessions and stricter limits on pay outs. No value anymore with ew betting, they have squeezed the pips out of that. Just the exchanges left, mostly milked by higher charges on profitable accounts. If the Pro's do go. This place will be shut down, it will be back to betting on course and the big wheel will have gone full circle. Sad but predictable. |
|
By:
Lot of leaps in there to become true for all that barstool.
Cross bridges, if/when it happens IMO. One view I have/hope is that the worse the bookies become there could just be some move from punters to using exchanges, though that is also speculation. But if it's speculation, then we may as well chose the optimistic... |
|
By:
agree barstool but I can't see people being able to have 5 fig bets at the track at odds now available and no tax.

By:
Calvin said on the ak podcast, that it’s half of traded was bets.
I think that’s high. But to move the odds, even 0.2 bets or lays must be placed, At minimum it’s got to be 10% of traded is new money, People must know, but it might fall under corporate privacy, |
|
By:
50%bis a gross exaggeration CUTH

|
By:
They asked him a question about a horse, someone said x thousands traded,he said,so about half of that is bets.,new money etc.
I thought that’s high. But basically if 10 million traded 9.9 mill on back column,9.9 mill on lay column Everyone sat around waiting for someone to put 20 quid on it,so they can trade position. All trying to eek out 1 pence each profit out of that. |

Lot of so called on social media at the track punting in cash….. One doesn’t keep records and goes solely by what’s in the pocket…..ffs Remember the well known person on here had a two year loss on course…..backed and propped up by books and appearances……you know the one…. |

I am confused as to why you think your opinion on "Pro Punting"has any relevance Aceform as you have never been one.Still,it has never stopped you in the past

I am confused as to why you think your opinion on "Pro Punting"has any relevance Aceform as you have never been one.Still,it has never stopped you in the past I’ve said on many occasions iron….1993-1996…..you must keep up,you should have been aware with your other forum name…. |
|
By:
The problem that you have Aceform is that your confidence is totally gone and when you do spot a good opportunity you are frightened to take it.
One glowing example was at Aintree this year when you stated that Jonbon should be 1/5 and it was trading at 1.67 on BF which I suggested should have been a maximum bet for you. You didn't back it saying,"it's not my type of bet". I need say no more. Good luck |
