Also from the article Stephen Kerr, a Conservative MSP, obtained Scottish Prison Service (SPS) data that show there were 653 foreign nationals in jails north of the border on May 22 this year. Just over four in 10 of the total were from just three countries – Albania (94), Poland (92) and Vietnam (81). So the numbers themselves aren't high, though I can't understand why so many Albanians are in the country anyway. They weren't in the EU and their country isn't war torn or run by nutters. |

0k 10 or so years ago the red house flats in Glasgow were due to be demolished.
The uk government were paying 2k a month for housing refugees. The weege snp cooncil welcomed and housed them in red house flats.. And 10 years later these people who couldnt intrigate have turned to crime. Really... I saw it coming and left over 10 years go.. wtf... |

The Scottish prison population is not 1300. The Scottish prison population is about 8000. The article states that half the foreign prison population (653) comes from the countries mentioned. Not half of the entire prison population. btw there is a lot of malleable data in this area but it's reasonable to state that the foreign born prison population doesn't seem to be vastly out of line with their prevelance in society (about 8% in both). Although it isn't unreasonable to expect people coming to live in a country to behave themselves. |
