I think us punters are just as guilty as the jckeys, many of us will sense they aren't going quick, but few wll act on it and most of us will still assume they'll come back.

Goodwood turning into grave yard for punter , the odd ground too messing things up , bookies in clover

I wouldn't back FoG in a seller at Ripon ! Obviously doesn't like quirky courses.

Keane whipping the living crap out of it last time when it was 3 lengths clear doesn’t help with subsequent runs The barstewards on Sunday were on about horses going the wrong way from Ascot, having had a hard race on fast ground, and maybe it was one of those where Lester would have won half-a-length hard held, but as you say, Keane asked for everything from some way out, for it all it produced a spectacular performance, but he's probably bounced off it. |

Interesting Gosden quickly didn't want to say Buick was too far of the pace like he did with Shoemark.
Gosden did say he was too far back in his interview with Chapman. |
|
By:
Despite my pre race bet,I was never happy with the way the horse travelled.
It happens |
|

Trainer should have said you are on the best horse in the race go out and ride him like it, and not get bogged down with instructions, obviously not going to keep up with the winner but should never have been so far back. WEaver had it right for me when he said if that was an Apprentice race the stewards would of had them in for an explanation. just shocking Jockeyship, and as someone said it will happen again.

Correct Glasgow but,FOG would still not have won today
|
|
By:
.. Yes agree as well, too poor a run to be true.
|

By:
Just the 5L turnaround with Henri Mattise.
Unfortunately,they cannot talk |

Think it's time gosden coaxed the Italian back to ride for him. John and thady will not tolerate below average or let's say amateurish rides any longer , buick has dirtied his copy book twice now in group 1 for gosden , I don't think jogn and thady will tolerate a third time for buick , I'm sure thady is seething as that boy wants to make his way up ladder and these bizarre rides on their horses will not be tolerated for much longer

Young Luke Catton showed buick up winning for gosden in maiden at Sandown making all doing right given front runners bias

HMRC would welcome Frankie back with open wallets

By:
Mics, is Catton at Gosden's now? I think he was with Stuart Williams.
|
|
By:
Frankie can't afford the flight home
|

By:
FOG was going perfectly fine till 3f out..they all got caught out of their ground...49/50 the leaders would of been swamped late on.
|
|
By:
Yes swifhty he is there , rode good few winners for him already
|
|
By:
one to watch then.
|
|
By:
Yeah he decent for him claim positions horses well too
|
|
By:
U can see buick is feeling pressure watched him today stern face all time , u can see he is feeling the pressure and it showed with his riding ,in this game when confidence goes it ain't easy, I think buick is as good as of them when on song

The phrase "Horses for courses" holds much veracity.
It was obvious after Newmarket that Field of Gold favours flat tracks. They thought they could nick an easy group 1 on a course that was unlikely to suit and they got found out. Great horses will act on any track. That's what puts Frankel and Sea the Stars great horses and places them on a different echelon. |

A good horse but not the superstar that the media tried to have everyone believe.

Never liked the ground, never liked the course

For as much stick as Buick is getting, Levy deserves a large slice equally.

Run that race a hundred times with whatever jockey/tactics you want and it loses everytime. Just not a going day for whatever reason

Field Of Gold will undergo tests after being found to be lame following his defeat in the Group 1 Qatar Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on Wednesday.
The brilliant Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes winner could only finish fourth behind 150-1 shot Qirat in the feature on day two despite being sent off the 1-3 favourite. 150-1 pacemaker Qirat pulls off historic Sussex Stakes upset to leave Field Of Gold and Goodwood stunned However, a potential reason for his defeat has come to light as he was found to be lame on Thursday morning. |
