Keeping him in a pocket the whole time didn't help, particularly when he specifically had a pace maker to aim at.

Keane whipping the living crap out of it last time when it was 3 lengths clear doesn’t help with subsequent runs

Gosden just said exactly what Shoemark said happened post Guineas, got unbalanced in the dip and didn't pick up like he thought he would.

There was 2 races in that race , shocking how jockeys nowadays so easily get caught out , u never see eddery , cauthen caught out like that

What I don't get is why they run pacemakers but then they run at a crawl, as it was FOG was flat thewhole way but he was keen early and that was exacerbated by the slow pace.

The only logic to pacemakers is when you sit 1-2 imo. I cant see point if you hold it up in a pocket 2nd last.

That horse wouldn't have won today with any jockey up, was obviously way below his best. This was one occasion were giving the pacemakers too much rope in a slow run race went badly wrong, it's happened before and it'll happen again.

Reminded me of the guineas - mini flat spot. Also raced keen

Ran flat. Simple as that

Doesn't matter if the horse wasn't 100% today Buick was shocking on him.  Sean Levey has just stated, his horse would have won with a better ride.  That's ur answer to the other jockeys in behind the 2 pace setters.  They were all brutal rides.

the winner was a pacemaker..its rated 100..dont matter who rode FOG..it wasnt winning today.

It seems to be a fad, it appens all the time, group 1's are run at crawls more often than not these days, even Moore on Jan Bruehgel, an out and out grinder tried to stack them up in the KG...before that the Eclipse was run slowly which paradoxically made Delacroix's performance all the more impressive.

Should of been closer to the pace as they are horses and not machines.

That result just sums the current racing game. It's getting nearly impossible to make it pay. This year has been the hardest one for me in 20yrs. Need to step back and concentrate on other sports.

I did it two years ago. The football is much more profitable.

rico horses going very slow 12+ second furlongs for 6 furlongs arnt fooking pacemakers, their 100 rated horses given  a 8 length start in a rolling start 2 furlong sprint

Think I would back Rosallion to beat Fields of Gold again next time over a mile. More the ground than running flat perhaps.

Interesting Gosden quickly didn't want to say Buick was too far of the pace like he did with Shoemark.

He might have been below par, but I'd argue Shoemark gave him a better ride in the Guineas but only Keiron was thrown under the bus as OP says.

Horse obviously gets unbalanced by dips and takes a while to pick up again.

TBF his was only the 2nd worst ride there - Foley managed an even worse one in that race if you watch back. But no surprise there...
By:
duffy
When: 30 Jul 25 15:42
Foley's ride was worse because he was actually riding a horse that ran his race and would have won with a better ride, FOG was flat and no jockey would have altered that.
