I hardly think today was a disaster for FOG.
BTW,Gosden expected the winner to get an easy lead |

Seeing as I’ve been mocked for not laying the horse at Goodwood despite warning you you all the dangers of backing him this really is gold standard hypocrisy!
![]() uptheirons • April 24, 2026 3:34 PM BST Gosden said enough to put me off Backing which doesn't equate to a Lay. It will come on plenty for the run ![]() |

yeah Gosden - always honest - just listen, you'll be rich I recall him saying that the ground had gone against Lord North in Dubai, was all downhearted, what happened? It won! ![]() |

How could anybody back FOG on the back of its last two substandard runs?
I wouldn't have backed it under any circumstances and was quite happy to see how it ran. Delbert remains an autistic, non punting cretin who will no doubt continue talking to homself for the reast of the day ![]() |
|
By:
Judge iron states the race was 9 months. Correct. He then asks have I not backed a loser in that period. Naturally I have. BUT NOT AT 1-16
. |
|
By:
I'd say he'd rather talk to himself than have you biting his ankles and calling him names all day. ANOTHER 14 hour day in front of the iron infesting every thread. But refuses to start a thread himself.

delashyte and dickster the forums resident long time loser residents both proclaimed a 1.06 was dodgy..
how much did they lay combined? The answer is absolutely fck hall. ewe cud nae mek it up 😆 |

I think Mr Gosden had a slight dig at Buick (cannot remember which big race) when connections used him as a replacement in a big Group race. But, big John always does that. Big John could be disingenuous too with his charges on injury and target for his horses eg So Mi Dar (Irish Oaks) and Jack Hobbs (Prince Of Wales/Coronation Stakes).

By:
Every mornin' at the nine you could see him arrive
He stood six-foot-six and weighed 245 Kinda broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip And everybody knew ya didn't give no lip to big John. |

What price for the horse to go winless this season before he goes to stud? 6/4 or 2/1?
|
|
By:
They should have done a "Bjorn Borg" and retired him after Ascot.
Every run now is tarnishing his reputation and lowering his price in the breeding shed. |
|
By:
I think Shoemark enhanced the horse's reputation in defeat. Now, his true potential has been exposed in public. Another failure in The Lockinge, assuming he turns up, will hurt his breeding shed value enormously.
I do not think Field Of Gold is even on the same level as Palace Pier let alone Baaed or Kingman. The horses he beat have over-rans since. |

hth Harold...
Name-calling is primarily a sign of poor emotional regulation, low emotional intelligence, and underlying insecurity. When individuals (e.g. Rico-Dangleflaps & uptheirons) lack healthy conflict-resolution skills or feel overwhelmed, they often resort to verbal attacks to mask their vulnerabilities or regain a sense of control. Psychologically, consistently engaging in name-calling points to several specific issues.... Displaced Aggression: When someone feels inadequate or threatened, they may redirect that frustration toward an easier target. Poor Communication Skills: It indicates a reliance on the "emotional mind" rather than the logical mind, leading to an explosion of negative feelings instead of a constructive conversation. Stress Response: When a person’s stress response spikes, the parts of the brain that govern empathy and logic temporarily shut down (known as flooding). They lash out with insults to protect themselves from feeling exposed. Childhood Conditioning: Adults who experienced sarcasm, put-downs, or shouting as normal conflict methods in childhood often mirror those same habits in their adult lives. |
