If coolmore were punter friendly they would Just ran ilnois, they were probably going to win race anyway giving ratings of field bar improving scandinavia, in my opinion this was fact finding mission to see if Scandinavia was good enough , they shown scant regard for punter but let's be honest they don't care bout punter

Agree Mics 100%

They ran two horses that were both off for their lives, what is wrong with that?
|
|
By:
The odds didn’t excite me despite the ratings and massive weight advantage. I can sit those races and bets out.

By:
No takers imp. Net not required.

Agreed irons.

They said on closing that it’s raining now, I’ve been looking forwards to seeing FoG against the older horses and hope the rain doesn’t get in and the race cuts up - after having had such a long dry spell.

Scandinavia was heavily backed antepot; Illinois drifted from 1/1 to 7/4, and only confirmed 10 mins prior to close of declaration for today.
Post today where will Scandinavia go? Leger or another stayer's race? The bookies are taking shelter post AOB assertion after the race Lambourn will go to The Voltigeur than either The Leger or The Arc. I did not quite hear what AOB said about Scandinavia, and his next target. But, bookies are taking shelters in The Leger. He's 7/4 (ladcrookes are 1/1) from 5/1 for Doncaster. |

You’re not selling it to me Impossible, too much guessing with them and they have classier types who also look like they’ll get the trip.
|
|
By:
They can’t and won’t all run in the Arc and they’ll turn up with more than one to play guess which game!

Bookmakers Ante Post prices are largely mythical now and if you listen to their mouthpieces you might as well read Enid Blyton'
Long gone are the days when Mike Dillon & Co would stand a decent Ante Post bet |
|
By:
Jan Brugel was on the maybe list for the Arc before last Saturday, a lot can happen and change between now and then - Leger.
|
|
By:
I do not think Coolmore will run a dual Derby winner in The Arc even if he was a "weak" winner for commercial reasons.
I've just read a post race interview report AOB said Lambourn was made for The Leger, but he did not say which one though. |

By:
When asked about the King George AOB said "both ran well", and lol!
|
|
By:
Well! ![]() |
|
By:
He later added that he ballsed up the instructions.
A large pinch of salt always needed when listening to him |
|
By:
Been out missed the race, just in to see the straight on +1, thought was a cracking race with both AOB horses giving their all, weight concession proved just too much for Illinois.
|
|
By:
AOB has 2 in The Nassau ie Whirl and Bedtime Story. The former is 11/8 f, the latter 13/2; not much between them, but the latter had better juvenile form. Take your pick, bettors.

Not forgetting the all important 3rd option imp , leave the race alone

Races swerved are as important as winning bets Hayden

Illinois looking worse than Calandagan in trying to nab a G1!

Stable Jockey rode the fav, travelling head lad Pat led the colt. I’ve seen that happen elsewhere (Epsom) this year! Just depends what you term as cheating or misleading!

It was a good race to watch. Illinois ran well; the weight concession was just too much of a burden against his talented stablemate.
|
|
By:
Illinois is a good horse but nothing special. He's no Kyprios or Order Of St George; Jan Brueghel chinned him in The Leger.
Despite the farcical King George run I still believe Jan Brueghel is still Coolmore's No 1 contender for The Arc. I cannot see Lambourn going there at all. |
|
By:
Btw I've added Scandinavia (7/2) for The Leger alongside Lambourn to manage position. I dislike the dominance of Coolmore, and their double-talk repeatedly.

illinois already a grade one winner according to jock on winner ,
what do we no |

You had better get used to their dominance

7/2? With who impossible? I thought it was levels from 5’s?
By the way 5’s made no appeal to me. |
|
By:
'billie' was 7/2 for a short bit, only 7/4 now. I think it's important for Scandinavia to win a Gp 1 asap before an attempt in the Gold Cup next season. I also think Lambourn will abscond from The Leger, and be rerouted elsewhere, but no Arc, in my opinion.
Illinois is no Gold Cup horse. Trawlerman will beat him anytime, anyday over 20f; Illinois has not won a Gp 1. I think the Lordan was misled. |

The Gosden trio were never going.

By:
I’m not taken by his win, Illinois looked big again, even Francesca said without knowing his actual body weight she couldn’t see if he stripped fitter yesterday.
Scandinavia was entitled to win or go close with the weight that he was in receipt of in line with the ratings. All it proved to me was that he stays (which he looked to do at Ascot), talk of being the next Kip as is on the post today is over playing it just a bit! |

Sage there seemed lots of confidence in Sweetie the owner had said he was bucking and squealing. But he just seems well ….

Coolmore has Serengeti. A spoiler for the fav?
