It is what it is Hibby.

and most of what i see is a sport that became a farce a long time ago...
a sport where it has a media that plays the game... and authorities who are supposed to police the sport that turns blind eyes on a daily basis... conclusion... scumbag sport. |

never tried IR betting - GL if you make it pay HH

ta betty...
i've never hidden the fact that there is no way i could make it pay pre-race... i wouldn't even consider trying it. |

Expect it, and accept it.
They do what they like oer the water and have done for a long time. No-one twitches or blathers. |

it's a sad reflection on a 'sport' when the first consideration is 'which ones are trying their best here ?'...
and before you educate me and tell me that means there is an opportunity... i know that... but i ain't wasting my time trying to 2nd guess these vile human beings. |

Philip Rothwell will not be appealing against the stewards' decision at Ballinrobe on Tuesday that deemed Tiernan Power Roche to have made insufficient effort on the trainer's Coolboy Christie.
Despite an IHRB veterinary officer reporting the four-year-old to be clinically abnormal post-race, the stewards suspended Coolboy Christie for 60 days and the rider for 14. Coolboy Christie went off a 33-1 chance on his second start over hurdles having finished 13th of 16 at Roscommon 15 days earlier. He was held up in last by Power Roche and made a couple of mistakes, before making decent progress to chase the leading pack turning for home. After another less than fluent jump at the last, his effort petered out and he was beaten 15 and a half lengths into eighth of the 13 runners in the 2m11/2f maiden contest. Stewards subsequently heard evidence from the rider and David Nolan, Rothwell's stable representative at the track. Power Roche told the stewards his instructions from Rothwell were "to drop in last and to settle his mount who has previously run keen" and that he "made a few jumping errors but he was happy with the ride in that he had improved from his previous runs and ran to the best of his abilities". Nolan confirmed the instructions and told stewards Rothwell had advised him by phone that Power Roche "could have been seen to make more of an effort in the closing stages". Stewards also noted the IHRB veterinary officer's report. Anxious wait - Tiernan Power Roche leads the conditional riders' championship but must sit out the final five days Tiernan Power Roche: was deemed to have made insufficient effort on Coolboy Christie at Ballinrobe Credit: Patrick McCann They concluded Power Roche did not make "real and substantial efforts" to attain the best possible finishing position and meted out the suspensions. Rothwell said on Wednesday he was not planning to appeal due to the optics looking poor in the closing stages of the contest, but he felt Coolboy Christie's condition post-race should have been taken more into account. "I thought on the evening the stewards were correct, as visually it didn't look very good," he said. "However, when I spoke to Tiernan, he said the horse had given maximum effort, and the vets discovered he had a heart murmur afterwards. "They found the horse to be clinically abnormal and Tiernan felt he was tiring. With that in mind, it's hard to understand. But I'm not going to appeal. I get where the stewards were coming from." The trainer added that Coolboy Christie has a tendency to race exuberantly and that he was still learning, the Ballinrobe race being just his fourth start on the track after a couple of point-to-point runs. "He'd been very keen in his bumpers with Phidelma [Elvin] and is a work in progress," he said. "Tiernan thought he improved from his run at Roscommon and was happy with him. Tiernan has a clean record, so I thought 14 days was a bit excessive." BOSTON STRANGLER |

re-watched..in hindsight macaroni did jump poorly.

It surely must have schooled better than that at home, lost lengths at every fence, never jumped one of them. As poor a round of jumping I've seen in a long time.

Another poster made the fair comment she jumped poorly over hurdles previous, i doubt you could put her over fences again after that display yesterday,i would hope not anyway on that. Indeed her schooling must have been better but Torrens did well to get around.

He did, a few would have gave up early doors.
You would hope she doesn't run in a chase again LP |

I probably would The Dealer, she is only 5 though, beaten off 122 over hurdles though a classy race, not sure she could get much higher in that sphere. Her flat win beat Seo Linn reads v well though SL is looking a bit exposed on the flat. I would personally if mine would give her a go on the level for a while.
