you get worse odds but knowledge of selections by forumites is so strong should be no problem. Wink

Was discussed in an earlier thread and it was recommended by several not to touch.  So, no, haven’t got involved.

It's just fur the lazy. A horse is 7.0. with match me. It will take anything down to 6.0. fdepending  on liquid

I wouldn't use on desktop but editing odds on mobile is slow and fiddly so on the (rare subset of rare subset) of occasions I am betting IR on mobile I might use it.
Report hulk23 July 17, 2025 7:12 PM BST
does anyone ever use it looking for 7.0, for example, and it comes back and says there you go have 7.6 ?

thought not .....

I was unaware of it and didn't realise Betfair had become that desperate - but I do sometimes give money to "down and outs" in the street, so I might consider using it.

What's the next "innovation" - maybe a "Chase Me" feature - where they send you free spins on payday?

It’s been on their website for ages. Has it just appeared on the app recently? Had a bit of press on here lately.

the only reason that is there is that they've had a brainstorming session about how to increase their profits.  not one about how to help the punter, how to increase their profits.  probably gave Tadhg a week to come up with something or he was getting drop kicked out the front door.  Yes Tadhg ... got something Paudy.  It's called Match Me.
Report hulk23 July 17, 2025 7:35 PM BST
we give them the option of letting us choose which odds to give them, and we shaft them.  what ya think ?

it's genius Tadgh.  Just one problem.  Nobody would be stupid enough to fking use it.

Get your stuff together, you're fired.

There’s a button to press. It sounds tempting. We have all done it once unless we’ve read a thread saying not to.
Report hulk23 July 17, 2025 7:46 PM BST
i'd quite like 7/1 but i'm not fussy i'll let you decide.

ok, you're on at 9/4.  next !!!

So 'Match me' is like someone(Paddy) watching all your bets for you?

I'm surprised they've enough resources after monitoring hulk 24/7

Yes, in fact that often happens. Match me is a good idea because it is quicker than chasing the price down, but it has been implemented very badly.

1. it only operates on one selection at a time. Pick two runners and it turns itself off.

2. it leaves the focus in a funny place so changing the stake becomes fiddly.

3. if you hit return, it cancels the bet. Without "match me" return places the bet.

Almost as if Betfair never tested it, but that's the modern software industry for you.
