Robust testing procedures need to be in place for sure. I agree with that. But just because someone is prosecuted for drink driving, it doesn't make them an alcoholic.

A history of missed scheduled breath tests at racecourses; incident outside a local boozer. Now, progress to drinking and driving; colliding with a tree (a stationary object) and injuring a passenger; refusing to provide a specimen; blaming some in his industry of jealousy.
These are classic behaviours of an alcoholic ie denial, denial, denial. I sincerely hope when (NOT if) another alcohol episode in public or in private nobody esp a kid is present or hurt by his immaturity, irresponsibility and two-fingers-approach to the BHA, and his colleagues. |

I am a massive Murphy fan but anybody that refuses a breath test gets zero sympathy from me it gets me thinking he must have been fakin legless.

You’ll never convince people how dangerous this man is impossible. You’ve done your best.
Guaranteed when he does it again his defenders will ignore that too and defend him again. You are now wasting your breath. |

Honcho, you are in danger of being regarded as credible as Impossible. The "man" is a moron who ignores facts e.g Nobody was hurt in the incident but he keeps stating a girl was hurt. He mentions HRA but obviously chooses to ignore the fact that he hit and injured a couple of women through drink driving.
Just a couple of examples but also hard to forget he thinks Sir Gino can win next years Arkle or last week he was advocating bookies should be taxed 50% on horse racing and a few threads later stating the opposite? |

Thank you Cagliari. I value your contribution at all times. Though quite how to merge the wide range of assertions you make and work out a point is a puzzle.
You are a wonderful man. Thank God we have you. ![]() |

But, never drinking and driving, and crashing into a tree and hurting a passenger. The incident occurred on July 16th when Cecil's car struck Len Hurrell, 78, and Joan Hurrell, 77, who were walking along a road. Mrs. Hurrell suffered a broken arm, and Mr. Hurrell sustained cuts. Cecil's alcohol reading was 88mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35mg. The accident happened after Cecil had been drinking at a lunch with a friend. He initially blamed a friend for driving but later confessed at the police station. Cecil's ban was reduced by 15 months after attending a drink-driving rehabilitation course. This was Cecil's second drink-driving conviction within 10 years. |
