I played with it on mobile when it first came out a couple of years ago - it just places your unmatched bet again a few ticks below the price that failed to match or the current price (can't remember which) so with best price execution you ought to get matched and not get matched too far off what you wanted.
For me, it makes sense on mobile where price editing is fiddly and time consuming - I haven't yet found a reason to use it on the desktop where I do 99% of my betting.
