waht did he do wrong there?
Report Mics • July 4, 2025 2:30 PM BST
I thought there he could have been a bit more pro active on gosdens even allowing for trouble
Report barstool • July 4, 2025 2:30 PM BST
See it all the time at Sandown.

Just 5 runners and boxed in like a kipper.
Report mitolo • July 4, 2025 2:30 PM BST
disappointingly restrained post

waht did he do wrong there?

nowt apart from being trapped on rail in a slow run race over 7f.
Report shaungoater • July 4, 2025 2:31 PM BST
His main crime was not getting after the horse when he eventually got a run - he'd have won
Report FIGJAM • July 4, 2025 2:32 PM BST
ffs why don't commentators say it as it is?
Complete **** up by Keane, the world and his wife know you can't do that at Sandown.
Report ThePomp • July 4, 2025 2:32 PM BST
Happens a lot at sandown mics. Jockeys need to be more proactive rather than reactive. He had a furlong n half  to steady him then switch him out for his run. Watching the race you knew what was gonna happen after 2 furlongs. Shoemark would've been roasted for that and rightly too
Report Mics • July 4, 2025 2:32 PM BST
He is great jockey but warning to UK each way punters,  once winning chance goes he generally  goes easy so he is not an each way punter man
Report Mics • July 4, 2025 2:32 PM BST
Exactly the pomp
Report kjansch • July 4, 2025 2:33 PM BST
would have won by 3 lengths if he has come down the outside - needs to learn his lesson fast- poor ride
Report uptheirons • July 4, 2025 2:33 PM BST
He was hardly helped by his own stablemate either.
Clearly should have won
Report N-east Correspondent • July 4, 2025 2:34 PM BST
Lydia did say he wont want that in his recordings or tapes something like that
going for a run up the rails at Sandown is asking for trouble finished well
but winner was eased down and value for a bit more imo
Report Clerkmore • July 4, 2025 2:34 PM BST
He has had a few poor rides since getting the Juddmonte gog!
Report aberdonia • July 4, 2025 2:34 PM BST
not a great ride...just a maiden though.....
Report Mics • July 4, 2025 2:34 PM BST
Sandown in many respects is a flapping track,  it's law on to itself and you ll find the best horse doesn't always win
Report Clerkmore • July 4, 2025 2:34 PM BST
Gig!!
Report Mics • July 4, 2025 2:35 PM BST
Poor of marquand not to let him out , don't think gosden be impressed
Report shaungoater • July 4, 2025 2:37 PM BST
He obviously doesn't know how much ground you can make up at Sandown up the hill. He resigned himself to 2nd when he was still a big player
Report willie the milk • July 4, 2025 2:38 PM BST
Say it as it is. It was an absolutely shocking ride. Boxed in in a 5 runner race. Terrible
Report 1st time poster • July 4, 2025 2:42 PM BST
to be fair always looked like the gap was going to come but never did as buick was running green both ways, if keane had put the horse in to the gap when it was almost there,he,d have probably made himself the gap

Dont agree with that...He is the go to man for gambles in Ireland.

of course may be different in maidens etc
Report aberdonia • July 4, 2025 2:51 PM BST
i did back his one at Sandown, but you just have to accept it and move one.
Report barstool • July 4, 2025 3:07 PM BST
He should have a look a Callum Sheperd on Staya.
Report 1st time poster • July 4, 2025 3:11 PM BST
or staya should try falling out of stalls on round course and win

Helearnt his lesson
Report FOYLESWAR • July 4, 2025 3:40 PM BST
on the outside no probs
Report 1st time poster • July 4, 2025 3:41 PM BST
no more ludicrous than comparing rides on the straight track and the round course

not sure wether its the ground, but i cant remember seeing so many horses reffing, going left, right, throwing their heads in the air making jocks look like 7lb claimers as theres been at sandown so far today

Two wins from 3 fancied rides. Fine by me as I back Balding on Fridays. Windlord very close though.

He made difference on Windlord
Report ashleigh • July 4, 2025 4:37 PM BST
Ban coming with 8 strikes on Windlord.Sad
Report 1st time poster • July 4, 2025 5:20 PM BST
8 with the banjo and to be fair didnt miss him with any of them, pretty brutal in slow mo,no fresh air shots  of wafts there
Report kavvie • July 4, 2025 6:18 PM BST
i mistook the judmonte horses in  the earlier race. i thoght the marquand horse was the one c keane was riding . apologies.

Sean levey could learn from young Keane with the whip ,levey uses it too sparingly and it cost him at ascot , that extra one or2 makes difference with decent force ,levey good jockey but itcpuld use stick bit more in my opinion
Report Cider • July 4, 2025 6:27 PM BST
yep, 14 day stick ban in peak summer racing is the way to go Grin

Keane normally doesn't use the whip that much. He normally only uses it when he really has to, and rarely like today.

Wanting to see animals beaten hard with a stick to win a few
bob is not for me I'm afraid.

Doncaster 30 March 2025:
Race 4 - The William Hill More Top Prices Handicap (Class 3)
Sean Levey, the rider of the winner, DARK THIRTY (IRE), was found to have used his whip once
above the permitted level of six from approximately two furlongs out. As Levey was referred to the
Judicial Panel on 31 January 2025 for ‘totting up’ previous whip offences, the deferred suspension
of 5 days was imposed by the Panel for a further whip breach within the next 6 months or 200 rides
was triggered. Therefore, Levey will be suspended for 9 days from Tuesday 15 to Wednesday 23
April 2025, inclusive.
