When you watch the video it's plead guilty all day long and accept it.

The bloke who stomped gave them a leg to stand on. Terrible rookie mistake.

Ricky Jones the Labour Councillor has pleaded not guilty! Forgetting that he was on film! Even a deaf person could tell what his hand gesture to his throat meant!

Jury now on 2nd day of deliberations, judge sent them back to continue but says may consider a majority verdict if they can't come to agreement.

The judge has indicated he'd accept a majority verdict; not as clear cut as cctv footages have most believed, it seems. One juror has gone on a pre-planned holiday reducing the number to 11.

You always get 1 or 2 people on a jury who are anti police/establishment and look for a reason not to find people guilty, even when the evidence is plainly in front of their eyes.

Assuming there are 11 jurors as in this case. Can they return a legally accepted guilty verdict of 9-2; 8-3; 7-4 or 6-5? Or does it need to be at least 8-3, and not below?

I think the scums will be found guilty; the sentence is the only unknown. The punch on the female copper was clearly unnecessary, and violet; the head-but of another passenger outside Starbucks was clearly unprovoked and violet behaviour.

impossible123 -- "One juror has gone on a pre-planned holiday reducing the number to 11."

Justice might be better served without a juror too thick to realise their forthcoming week on the Costas might be a problem.

The judge allowed the juror to go on holiday. Does this have a significant bearing or implication on the case eg the juror's absence is insignificant, and a verdict (not hung) is not in doubt, according to the judge?

Hardly the jurors fault being called up despite a holiday being pre-planned so hardly cause to assume they are thick Ramruna?

He/she would have been one of a group, in excess of twelve, surely - the twelve to be finally selected on the morning of trial start?  If so there’ll be no issue - twelve can still be empanelled?

CagliariG -- You can defer jury duty with a reasonable excuse which according to the list helpfully provided by His Majesty's Government includes "you have a holiday booked".

So yes, I do want an emergency Ofsted inspection of that juror's alma mater.

I must confess to not having a crystal ball like you Ramruna i.e No idea why the juror was seated and no idea if they requested to be excused, never stops the Forum Jury jumping to conclusions though hence why a jury of peers from here would be a nightmare for any defendant!!
By:

When: 30 Jul 25 12:16
CagliariG we do not need a crystal ball. I'm going on impossible123's post that the juror had previously booked a holiday. I am therefore assuming the juror knew when the holiday was. I guess it is possible their other half booked it as a surprise and had not told them, but I doubt it.

If what the scums did at the airport had happened in Singapore or China they'd have been "executed" or serving a long imprisonment prior to their trial. One of the scums headbutted another individual (unprovoked) outside Starbucks in the airport; the other abetted in the incidence of resisting arrest by police officers.

This violet behaviour in a public place cannot be left unpunished without imprisonment. An instant spell in a cell is a must for these two scums.

What will happen if the jurors are unable to return a majority verdict of 10 v 1? More deliberation or a re-trial?

I think I'd have done the same to these scums if the female police officer was a colleague of mine. It was a shame the police dog was not in the vicinity. The scums should have a pound of their flesh masticated.

Pure scums!!

The jurors were unable to reach a verdict on the assault of the male copper, the younger thuggish son was guilty of assault on the female officer and female emergency worker. He was also found guilty of the assault of a member of the public outside Starbucks.

Let's hope he gets sent down for at least 24 months for each count. And, gets the treatment fromother inmates for the coward punches on the female officer and emergency worker.

I hope their mum is happy with the way her sons have behaved in public. I also hope she's pleased for the way they've been brought up ie behave like thugs in public, and violent.

If they can give two half glaikit tree fellers 4 and 3 ( to ensure their sentence isn’t automatically halved by being under 4 ) they can surely give this total thug a right lesson.
It won’t happen though - too chit-scared of a racist backlash.
