Fabulous ride?  She just had to steer it.  lol.
Report TameTheTiger June 25, 2025 8:43 PM BST
settled it beautifully in 3rd, finding cover in a 5 runner race when the horse clearly wanted to go faster. she was patient turning for home, only asking the horse to quicken approaching the final furlong. fabulous ride.
Report LoyalHoncho June 25, 2025 8:44 PM BST
Easy ride.  The horse settled perfectly.
Report TameTheTiger June 25, 2025 8:52 PM BST
settled perfectly because she found cover and rode with soft hands. by my reckoning anyone going against her rides recently is around £500 down trying to win a tenner each time.
Report LoyalHoncho June 25, 2025 9:08 PM BST
I’m not going against her recent rides. I’m not going against the girl.   I’m disputing the hyperbole used about that one.
“Fabulous” was the word used and fabulous it wasn’t.  It was a skilled ride.
I like the girl, as Slippy can confirm.  We have discussed her before.
Report TameTheTiger June 25, 2025 9:19 PM BST
she won the race, made no mistakes during the race. therefore a 10/10 ride. fabulous !

I wonder sometimes why I have looked in on the forum.
Look, she's a newbie, the fact there is a (7) next to her name let's you know that.
It's not a secret.
If you choose to back her and lose money, you only have yourself to blame.
It's a bit like sitting 2 inches off the rear bumper of a learner driver and then moaning when they've braked suddenly and you've driven into them....

She is a lovely girl, full of smiles and kindness.  She works hard and tries to get more rides and experience to improve..
So to the OP who called her the c word , is that anyway to refer to a nice polite young girl ?

Hopefully if you have a daughter or a wife you treat them a bit better.
.
Report barstool June 26, 2025 12:23 PM BST
Name calling is out of order, totally agree.

Nothing wrong in reporting fact though.
Report Hayden June 26, 2025 12:35 PM BST
Problem is though one persons fact is another persons subjectivity , so you end up going around in circles before the debate condescends into one of insults and abuse.

That's forums for you though i guess , good luck Elizabeth  Happy
Report sageform June 26, 2025 1:18 PM BST
she seems a very promising rider. As said above you don't expect world class rides every time from a 7lb claimer but she seems a fair bit better than average. 11 wins over jumps and a total of 5 wins on the flat of which 4 were in the last 2 weeks. 2 fancied rides today at Leicester.
Report mrcombustible June 26, 2025 1:40 PM BST

I thought she rode the gap around the furlong pole very well, yes on the best horse but very few lady riders can look good and have confidence even on the best horse to take the gap fair play to her she can only improve
Report Jacko2017 June 28, 2025 10:17 PM BST
Capable Elizabeth Gale registered a winner on her first ride in Ireland today, as the apprentice jockey landed the Curragh’s Sherry FitzGerald Country Homes Ladies Derby on the Joseph O’Brien-trained Masoun (3/1f).

Gale, a step-daughter of ex-jump jockey Brian Harding, had previously notched 11 national hunt wins before recently switching to the Flat, and today gave a polished display to manoeuvre Masoun between horses and to an eventual 1.75-lengths success over Bear Profit

O’Brien said “Elizabeth gave him a lovely ride and he’s a progressive horse. He quickened up well and I think he enjoyed having the bit of cover and coming through horses.”

The dual Melbourne Cup-winner added “he is owned by an Australian-based syndicate (Go Racing Limited) and some have come from New Zealand to see him running today.

“We have five or six two-year-olds each year who race here for a couple of years, and then usually head on to (trainer) Chris Waller in Australia. They have supported me very well and they’ve had a number of winners in the last few weeks.

“We were trying to get Masoun into a Royal Ascot handicap but unfortunately he just missed out, but he’s come and won here today so we’re delighted. He will be an exciting horse for the future here and also in the other hemisphere.
Report Jacko2017 June 28, 2025 10:19 PM BST
Reading the comments they had every faith in her abilities I wish her well for the future and I for one will definitely be keeping a close eye on her future rides
Report SlippyBlue June 29, 2025 5:25 AM BST
Quote from Suzy, " She is a good jockey and strong. She is very tidy and wasn't getting enough chances over jumps, whereas she will be a stand out on the flat "

It'll be great to see her make a real go on the flat.
Report sageform June 29, 2025 10:23 AM BST
Certainly improving and will eventually lose her 7lb. What still baffles me is why Ireland produces so few good female jockeys. The very good ones like Nina, Katie and the now also retired Rachael were all exceptional but without them where is the next good female jockey in Ireland? Jodie Townend over jumps/bumpers perhaps but on the flat?
Report Jacko2017 June 29, 2025 10:48 AM BST
I have backed all 3 of her mounts today as she will be buzzing after yesterday all big prices my money on her back will definitely be a hindrance

Why no stalls?
Report mrcombustible June 29, 2025 5:27 PM BST
Following Race 1, due to damage sustained, the stalls will not be used for the remainder of today and the remaining 6 races will be tape starts.

An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding damage caused to the stalls, which resulted in Races 2 to 7 having to be started by a tape start. The Starters, the Clerk of the Course, the Stalls Team Leader and the General Manager were interviewed. After hearing the evidence, a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horse Racing Authority for further consideration

Disgrace no stalls at fos las,  they shouldn't be let hold a flat card again,  pitiful watching the carry on , I don't blame girl jockey at all , fos las are a fuking disgrace
Report Mics June 29, 2025 5:49 PM BST

Report Mics June 29, 2025 5:52 PM BST
Personally I backed teals in penultimate race and due to no stalls and Jack Callan no cop horse was left and it cost him at end but if there was stalls probably would won , it's all the punter that suffers from these buffoons
Report Mics June 29, 2025 5:54 PM BST
Do u think punters in america or hong Kong or even India would put up with that carry on at fos las today , supposedly uk a first world country acting like third world country it's like long ago when we used jumpers for goal posts when playing football

If ever there was a candidate for prozac..
What's wrong with a flag start if the stalls are broken ?

Better than the alternative , which would be to abandon the card, surely ?

Horses are bred to be versatile and need to learn to do things other than just gallop in a straight line, and the jockeys should be horsemen and have some skill, so a few flag starts will sort out those that can ride from those that can only sit on top.
They use them for every jumps race after all.
