you've asked this question before a few times over the years, why are you now expecting a different answer?

Early dementing probably! Pluys seemed to remember it disapearing but then the message has come back in the last few weeks and seemingly none of my in running bets get on in time!  Whatever i dont see the point in making it any harder or slower to make an IR bet unless anyone can think of a reason?

And actually its the same message two days ago and today but the earlier one was when few were on line so i thought it worth repeating for IR punters.  But no-one has offered a reason yet.

Without the one second delay there would be no I/r on horse racing.

The only people who don't have a one second delay in submitting bets are BF,as you already know.

when a soff fisticated robot has 1 second to decide whether it wants enni of your bet request its like getting 75yds start from Usain Bolt.

5L is a massive start to give anybody

Irons please explain why the 1 second delay is needed for ir to work. Surely it turns ir into guesswork as 1 sec equals five lengths

The one second delay is entirely for the benefit of BF who are heavily seeding the I/R Market on horse racing and losing money CW.
If it wasn't there the On Coursers could return and scalp them.
You only have to look at the number of £1's in the boxes at minor Meetings

Why do betfair seed the market? It doesnt make them money does it, or is it just to get some mugs to bet on beaten horses? Not much money in it for them anyway

My theory and,it is only that,is that they don't want to let the I/R on horses fail as there are punters who bet huge I/R on the Soccer,cricket and Tennis etc who might get squeaky bums about their funds if the racing failed

when the host is accomodating clickers with overides and you can accomodate all them with worst price execution it karnt fail long term.

How people bet I/R on Soccer with the massive delays and VAR beggars belief

most will be betting when the market is stable on opinion..obv karnt steal nowt.

OK - thanks for responses - am checking with betfair now [hard to bypass robots and no phone these days] - the operative for exchanges had no idea this was going on when i asked but he in theory will get back to me with an answer later! I have to say that until the last few months I was able, even without specialised equipment or bots,  to place some profitable bets in running at the end of a race but it seems to have become increasingly difficult to get on in time lately.

why all of a sudden are they putting up the start and end of race suspend best part of 5 seconds late ?

what has some whizz kid come up with that is being tested out on the smaller meetings before our very eyes...

Up the!!  i'm a bit of an old grumpy cynic [probably like u] that waits for Trump to blast Iranian nuclear activity into oblivion [on the basis that would be martyrs, or anyone else deluded enough to believe in a life after death apert from their legacy, shouldn't have such weapens of mass destruction, if we wish to stay on this world at least temporarly as Elon's rockets aren't going to help u in the near future either.  HOWEVER I do occasionally seek some clarity in this F****ed up world!  Happy betting, all!
