What you can say in Queally's defence on this occasion, is that the race was run in a slow time and the pace has pretty much held up, so the race wasn't run to suit.

Unlike yesterday at Salisbury when he won on Rage Of Thunder, and he came from well back in a race where there was a pace collapse.

The winner, COLINSKI , appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Windsor on 12 May 2025 where the colt finished seventh of nine runners, beaten by 17 lengths. James Owen’s representative’s explanation that a handicap debut and the application of first time cheekpieces, was noted. COLINSKI was routine tested.

Following the race, Pierre-Louis Jamin reported that WOOTTON PALACE, unplaced, hung badly left-handed rounding the final bend; Tom Queally reported that LOVE YOU BACK (IRE), placed fifth, was denied a clear run for a number of strides approximately ½ a furlong out; Georgia Dobie reported that BIRD ABOUT TOWN , unplaced, became unbalanced in the home straight.

Brant Dunshea, chief regulatory officer of the BHA, added: "It's great news that Fergus will by joining our stewarding team at what is an exciting time.

"I'm sure his years of experience riding at the highest level around the world will be an invaluable addition to the stewards' room."

I've no doubt if queally tried what he did today in India racing jurisdiction,  he would be coming home in body bag ,they don't take well to blatant cheating unlike in uk and ireland where stewards encourage it
