Great ride from Buick on a horse that looks like it could be a headcase but he managed to drop in and timed his run nicely. Could be a very good horse.

Did he look like a head case in his first 2 wins?
Report impossible123 May 29, 2025 8:38 PM BST
He was 2f to Field Of Gold at Newmarket. He pulled too hard in the race.

He's quirky. Geld him? Maybe with Godolphin, others may not. The horse's stallion value could be more than the lifetime earnings of an average Londoner.

Doubt you'll ever win a Group 1 pulling like that
Report impossible123 May 30, 2025 5:12 PM BST
I do not think he'll win a proper Gp 1 race over 8f. Is Kalms allowed in horses? Kalms seems to work for some humans with a nervy disposition.

I like King Of Cities, but I don't think dropping him back in trip on quick ground is the wisest move. Likely a big drifter. Looks as if punters are standing Royal Playwright yet again. The horse has been a cash machine for bookmakers.
Report impossible123 July 10, 2025 12:11 PM BST
Another one that was outpaced in his last race was Royal Playwright. He's also down in trip.
Report impossible123 July 10, 2025 4:49 PM BST
He settled much better today. An easy winner at the end. As usual his price drifted out to 2.8 before backed into 2.5. All good.

Yes, he was still a bit keen, possibly inherited from the sire/dam. I liked this horse. He'd won the last 2x I backed him - odds-against; only 7/2 against FoG in The Craven when supplemented, I think.

Come back to me when he wins a G1. I will say, he does seem to be learning. Each run slightly more settled. There's hope for him yet

Charlie Appleby is considering running his promising three-year-old Opera Ballo (Ghaiyyath) in the Prix Daphnis (Gr.3) over 1,600 meters at Deauville on August 10. A winner of the Listed Henry Cecil Stakes on Thursday at Newmarket, Opera Ballo made a strong impression by moving up effortlessly before sweeping past Seagulls Eleven to win by two and three-quarter lengths.
"It’s easy to say afterwards, but I would’ve been disappointed if he hadn’t won," said Charlie Appleby. "He’s a horse we’ve really liked since the spring – even since the winter, to be honest. He’s got a strong character, just like his sire, but he has a big engine and a beautiful action. He still needs to learn how to do things properly. I think he learned a lot today, and we might take him to Deauville for the Prix Daphnis."

He’s entered up dy before the Marois.

Also for the G1 Moulin.

Jacques Le Marois is a tough test for Opera Ballo. I'd like to see Rosallion win, but have a soft spot for The Lion In Winter. I hope they all run to their potential.

We have to see if he goes Impossible, it’s looking like it and surely a positive if they have decided to go for it?

I know he has a following so wanted to alert those, I’ll be hoping that the fav doesn’t win! No room for sentimentality in racing.

Am waiting on news or vids on the Japanese shippers, their champion miler 16/1 has brought a pacemaker and they are entered up for the Moulin after.

There’s lots in the race and the form of the Jean Pratt worked out ok yesterday, but they were dropping back, will those stepping up be outstayed? Lion looking like the extra distance should suit.
Report Delashay August 11, 2025 3:14 PM BST
Maybe it’s not a pacemaker?

JANTAR MANTAR (JPN 16/1

ASCOLI PICENO (JPN) 10/1

ASCOLI -  the mare was very unlucky in the run (so can only assume that’s why she’s shorter?) being blocked, finishes her races very strongly.

I’ve seen no news of their wellbeing or if they are even in France! If they are it could be a different level to what the older milers back here offer.

Just checking the entries as they are made.  Gosden has put people way claimed Lead Artist was going.  I’m not surprised that Notable Speech shows on this track, Ascot will always favour Rosie more.

Not sure if Opera was pulled from the race at the weekend because of the presense of Scoville?

interesting quote from Roger Teal yesterday

Roger Teal’s Dancing Gemini will head to the Prix Jacques le Marois a fresh horse as he looks to regain the superb form shown earlier in the term.

The Marois, a Group One event run over a mile at Deauville on Sunday, is his next port of call, with Ryan taking the ride for the first time since Sandown.

If Hannon’s horse runs to the same level then he knows he has 2 1/4 L to find for stepping up an extra furlong.

Impossible they must be desperate to get a G1 with Lion?
Report trevor007 August 13, 2025 12:50 PM BST
No only guessing HM already a BC winner if mine would be aiming him there again, bearing in mind he's been on the go since April, if mine wouldn't run

Rosallion the stable form has to be of concern, on Monday 1/56 more than happy to watch it win at the price.

The Lion, I think they realise they got him all wrong, breeding said middle distances but on the course at 2 he showed them surprising speed, this I thought would have been an opportunity to win what is looking like a weak G1.
Report Delashay August 13, 2025 1:30 PM BST
Just seen that DV has been sold that’s a negative for him. Camille is injured with a fracture from the Eclipse, it’s taken time to release that news!

I’m happy to oppose Rosie and hadn’t seen their form so thanks, Moore probably will then ride the Lion looking for the G1 and has had a track sighter.

Soumi said WoodShhauna’s limit is 6f after the Jean Pratt so was the lion staying on or getting nearer tired horses.

9/2 the field behind the fav gives plenty of options.
