I know that Meehan isn't the greatest trainer to follow, but he hasn't done too much wrong with this horse so surprised it is such a big price. There must be a fair chance he can place. Field Of Gold is a worthy favourite (no doubt Shoemark fans will be hoping it loses and we will hear from them later if that happens - that's today's NAP), but Cosmic Year needs to improve and could easily be a non-stayer, Officer needs to improve, and Hotazhell probably wants softer ground.

yeah dd i tend to agree regarding rashabar price looks too big ,good solid form in group races plenty of exp ,also like hotashell might be better over a bit further but group 1 form and not done a lot wrong biggish price .
Report Whippin Piccadilly May 24, 2025 1:54 PM BST
He does look the value play in this but I wouldn't say he was crying out for the Mile. If he get the trip, he'll be there abouts. As for FOG, the general consensus on here was that the horse should have won on the bridle in the 2000gns. This is a weaker race than that one so I'll expect plenty will be getting stuck into him today Devil

they were the 2 e/w for me as well foyles

No doubt FOG backers will wait until AFTER the race if it wins to tell us all how it really should have won the 2000gns as it liked (NAP)
Report FOYLESWAR May 24, 2025 2:06 PM BST
good luck wonders ,fog may well be too good but price is short enough ,cosmic could be anything , money for officer and he is improving but short enough now , expanded has a shout on his dewhurst form and a big price if you can ignore the gns run .cant back em all tho and rash and hotas hell will do for me.good luck all.

Good luck lads!

I've always preferred horses who missed newmarket for this race
newbury form boosted by jonquil & hah 2yo form way above novice form 2nd fav
nice e/w race 2 obvious bets imo gl
Report GEORGE.B May 24, 2025 2:19 PM BST
The 12f Listed race nearly 4 seconds inside standard. It does look breezy there so maybe wind assistance has played a part in that, but I think we can safely assume FOG ain't getting his Craven ground.
Report wondersobright May 24, 2025 2:19 PM BST
also fav sectional upgrade from newmarket not enough to reverse placings that 11/10 today built in like it won the guineas imo
Report Cider May 24, 2025 2:20 PM BST
The Charlton steed, whoosh (hopefully)
Report sageform May 24, 2025 2:20 PM BST
Rashabar certainly a sensible place play. Rather a lot of second places to back to win.
Report Whippin Piccadilly May 24, 2025 2:24 PM BST
With what GB has pointed out, will the ground be softer enough for Hotazhell Confused
Report shoodacoodadidnt May 24, 2025 2:26 PM BST
What is going on with the going then? Still reported as Good in the RP.
Report bettysboy May 24, 2025 2:29 PM BST
WP - i really do think FOG should have won the english guineas and also think it will be too good for these today

Hope they don't get too much rain for Rashabar, but he coped with it in France. Curragh a stiff mile, but I would be more concerned about Windlord forcing him to do too much too early on the front end.
Report luckyme May 24, 2025 2:51 PM BST
"Unfortunately, Rashabar has had a bit of an interrupted preparation for this Classic, and should improve from whatever he does today. He is in terrific shape though and I reckon he has a live each-way chance."

I didn't like the head carriage of Cosmic Year but it hasn't stopped it winning
Report penzance May 24, 2025 2:56 PM BST
Forget his Guineas run,Expanded seems well over priced @ 50s on here.
Can run well in this if reproducing his Dewhurst form. This might've
been his target anyway, don't think he was supposed to run in our 2000,
took over from the injured rnr.4 Plcs on here available aswell.
   GL ALL
Report GEORGE.B May 24, 2025 3:09 PM BST
James's Delight a big drifter there perhaps in anticipation that the ground would be too quick for him, but perhaps that bit of rain was enough to take the sting out of it.
Report impossible123 May 24, 2025 3:11 PM BST
Expanded and Hotazhell for me if the fav bombs. I cannot have Officer despite his trainer.
Report GEORGE.B May 24, 2025 3:24 PM BST
The one I included on my big price Saturday 'unlucky' 15 is the complete 'rag' - Commanche Brave.

In the hope he's not just in here as a pacemaker for Officer.

He travelled like a travelly thing in the 7f G3 at Leopardstown on his return and got to the lead narrowly inside the final furlong before being run down by the subsequent French Guineas winner Henri Matisse, with a subsequent French Group 3 winner behind him in third.

Has his stamina to prove for a mile but don't mind backing a 70-1 poke each-way who finished runner-up to a subsequent Classic winner on his latest start and may still be open to improvement.

Winner in a different league. Rashabar never looked to be travelling as if he was going to pick up, and ended up taking an age to get past the pacemaker.
