Runner up never gained an inch on the winner after the last , if anything.
One front runner and the rest hold up horses is often a recipe for disaster
oddly the inrunning market took quite a while to shorten it up though. Plenty there for those who thought the rides were bad on the others.
Possibly as a result of the Kontiki like pre race drift on the winner Stu
