Attended York on Thursday.
Its still the No1 run track in the country (Ronnie Rails will agree)
A couple of weeks ago a poster on the forum attended Hexham and reported that twice he asked for a bet at the price on the board but received a ticket with a shorter price on it.
The same thing happened to me at York, not by a flimping bookie but by a well established rails firm.
See The Fire was a general 5/6 most boards odd 4/5. But 1 book had 9/10.
So i wet up called my bet 540/600. Handed over 6 x £100 bundles and was handed a ticket.
On checking the ticket returns were £1100 and said 5/6 on ticket.
So i said i called the bet 540/600 NOT 500/600.
I was told the price changed. I asked for my money back and walked away to bet with another bookmaker (I thought it was pointless arguing with him)
Its not the £40 he was trying to cheat me out of its the thought that a well established firm from the frontline / Rails (over 50 years on course) Thinks its acceptable to be able to CHEAT the racegoers in this way (lets be honest 99% of the crowd wouldn't know the difference between 5/6 & 9/10)
Seems this is becoming more common occurrence around the racecourse.
Its a sad day when course bookmakers of his standing has resorted to CHEATING the punters out of any winnings

well run my @rse bar closed in the main stand. self service beers that NOBODY was using very slow service at the bars that were open not enough staff because the queues were not big. heineken bottle £4.90 Peroni bottle £6.70 Only trouble there was no heineken in any of the bars so price just up for show. Peroni only available in one bar.
Looks like if you ask for a price you get it if the computer is still showing the price. If it isn't criminal it should be. No wonder many people avoid racecourse bookies. I would but restricted on deposits here.
