Good one this for the file........4.10 at Chester today.  Nice winner for young Ashley for the Moores, all the way from Sussex.   Mr Lowther right on the button....

SMALL FRY, well drawn and teed up for this with an encouraging return at Ascot, wore down his market rival inside the last. A first mount at Chester for Ashley Lewis, he's now 2-2 at the track.

Small Fry's return was at Epsom and the final sentence is self evidently bo77oc ks

Small Fry is indeed now 2-2 at the track. If Lowther had been referring to the jockey, the sentence would have read: A first mount at Chester for Ashley Lewis, who's now 2-2 at the track.

The big story here is that Small Fry astonishingly got dropped from 80 to 78 for finishing third last time out in the Great Met at Epsom, the horse's first start of the season. Which incredibly conveniently got the horse into this 0-78.

I'm sure that Gary Moore and/or Ashley Carr didn't go ringing up the handicapper and asking him to do them a massive favour like this. But the handicapper sure did do them a good turn regardless.
