my point is someone has taken the wrong course Elise. if going round the inside and gaining several lengths was the wrong course then the winner is thrown out. and the 2 that followed it.

the thing is, they've fked up with the layout. so there's nothing to see here. if they admit they fkd up they have to chuck everything out bar the 3 that went to the left of the course marker.

Happened in an English flat race as well. Thirsk. Rail in the middle of the track. One went the 'right' side of it, everyone assumed it would be thrown out but wasn't. The one that people assumed took the wrong course finished second.

and once again, if you can go either side of a barrier in the middle of a racetrack. lets call it a "hazard" (at least one horse almost ran into it).
why is it there ?
the answer is it is there to mark the racecourse. which is to the left of the barrier. and if you went to the right. come to the stewards room and we'll discuss how long your ban is.

Thanks ,Elise ,I was on one of the 3 that took the "correct " course according to the co commentator on 365 anyway ,he was convinced mine would be placed third .

but they can't do that because they'd have to DQ everything that took the wrong course. which would be far too controversial.
should be 3 completed the course.
should be snowy. but they can't do that because they'd have to DQ everything that took the wrong course. which would be far too controversial. should be 3 completed the course.
In Thirsk I believe it was another start. The scenario was that Thirsk is a very wide track, and they can't or don't water out very wide. So David Allen I think it was, was drawn widest and decided to take the hard ground course, giving up ground. He obviously knew the rules, and nearly pulled it off.

cider, if it was thirsk you rem then there might be another because i rem a stewards called where they then blamed the track for not marking or removing something i think

Might well have been another one, at Thirsk it looked like a random bit of rail, hard to believe it was considered part of the course and not delineating the course. Something to remember with this lack of rain possibly!

that's the racecourse. look at where the man with the flag and big white coat is standing, he is on the "racetrack"
if you go to the right of that barrier you are no longer on the "racetrack". you have Run Out.
and you should therefore be disqualified.

just as they come off that bend after the long run down the hill...
a few of them went around the 'obstacle' thingy and a few went inside it...
stewards decided it was there as 'guidance' or something and not as an 'outer edge of the course' thingy.
