This is so frustratingly temperamental and seems to play race-videos when it feels like!
When a race is in progress, it's playing recordings of some runners' previous races...and then the next race, it'll play fine.
I've seen many other threads complaining about other issues but I've never seen it as bad as this.

Has anyone got some helpful information about this?

I'm starting to think it's only ME who's affected
as there'd be many threads about such ineptitude.

It's been like this for a week but strangely, the American races play fine.

PS - it's also the same on the Skybet site.
Strangely, 365 pictures are fine.

Thanks bud - I'll try that.

I use Brave Browser...and Microsoft Edge was already
installed so they might be conflicting in some way.

As I thought (because it worked up until last week) it wasn't a solution
but it was worth rolling the dice anyhow - thanks.

I can't understand how it's happened - the ignorant bástards at Skybet
can't be arsed replying to my email from a few days ago and I haven't
seen anything on the forum about it affecting others...so I'm stumpedConfused

it ain't just you Herbie...

RTV LV is shocking here...

nobody seems to give a fk about it...

how can Beverley be fine yet Warwick and Perth be awful ?

just doesn't make sense to me tbh...

i know one thing it means i won't be here much longer (not that i will be missing much).

Through the last couple odd years I've always felt that the delay at Beverley has felt worse than other tracks....could explain why it's smootherPlain

i asked Betfair last night to look at it swifty...

early days today wasn't too bad...

only Perth was a bit iffy...

slowly but surely it has got worse through the day...

Beverley seems fine but the rest are awful now...

i have no idea how it all hangs together but there is no doubt that something is badly wrong with it...

and yes i know it doesn't affect EVERYONE but those affected are BADLY affected...

i've told Betfair i won't be carrying on with it like this much more and i would suggest i won't be the only one...

impossible to watch now imv.

if someone can explain to me how one meeting can be fine yet the rest are awful i'm all ears...

there is something wrong with a setup where this is the case imv...

as plenty are using drones it won't be affecting Betfair much...

hence they will do rock all about it (even tho it ain't their product before people start screaming).

I honestly don't think Betfair follow up anything Hibby. They clearly don't believe it affects liquidity enough to demand a better service from the third party provider. As you say because it can be fine at times BF shouldn't accept it and should withhold payments etc.

tend to agree swifty...

i know when i'm told 'we've passed it on and they are looking at it' they really mean fk off coz we don't give a fk...

unfortunately for me that only means one thing...

i ain't hanging around for the funeral...

today has been absolutely shocking liquidity wise...

all i've seen is empty pink boxes and blue boxes at 1000 for plenty...

end of the road for me...

i did think the end of the jumps season would be the end but hoped i'd be able to carry on...

no chance now.

uptheirons, I don't think you're too far wrong with that statement when you work out what they really make from commission on some races. But they and other bookies should demand a smoother video for all other punters who'd like to watch a race properly.

@happyhibby

"if someone can explain to me how one meeting can be fine yet the rest are awful i'm all ears..."

Now I really am at the limit of my knowledge, but I think at some of the tracks (maybe the less remote ones?) the video providers have laid fibre-optic cables, whereas at others they rely on satellite links or point-to-point microwave links.  But that would only be a cause if it were always the same tracks that were good or bad?

upintheirons/swifty - I'd say it's the video providers who don't care about in-running betting because most of their customers (the bookies) don't offer it as a mainstream product.  So why would they pay to upgrade their service for one customer (BF) who have a portion of their business reliant on it?  I can't see Hills etc putting their hand in their pockets to cover a share of improving the quality of video when that has little or no revenue impact for them?

80K Hibby? Knock out all the traded money, how much actually changes hands? 5K, 10K? 2% comm of that is SFA.

The Tracks mentioned today were RTV Courses and are fibre optic. The pics are in the studio in 11ms.
The problem is highly likely to be lack of bandwidth that BF have

not enough for me i know that much...

i sat there the whole race and thought 'what am i doing watching this cr@p for ?'.
By:

why ?

this is what drives me round the bend tbh...

absolutely no rhyme or reason.
By:
HappyHibby
When: 24 Apr 25 18:10
one thing i do find surprising with the RTV LV product...

is EVERY race on the day is active (green on the LV playlist)...

that surely can't help things ?

why they have all the extra cr@p on there is beyond me...

and the race replays bit is constantly churning away...

again that cannot be helping imv...

races should only go 'active' 3 minutes befor the race...

and all the extra cr@p should be binned.

Is it just Betfair and Skybet? Both are useless.

Even though 365 works just fine, those gób****s think you've got a gambling problem
if you remain logged in for an hour...even though I don't even place a bet!

I've had warnings that I'm gonna have to have a telephone assessment and intrusive demands
for ID & bank statements...despite explaining to them that I'd had just TWO bets in a 6 hr
period even though I was logged in - that's utter madness...so fcuk 'em!

I can't believe they're the only site that functions properly.

I can't be ársed with the grief from them so I'd rather watch elsewhere...but several seem
to be failing - which ones are the most reliable (not bothered about the speed) without
them demanding my DNA or an anál swab from me?

Chandler's constant paranoid security demands when depositing or withdrawing forced me to
withdraw my balance so I can't even check on that - maybe I should've left a penny in it
so I'd have a positive balance and be able to watch the races...and check if it worksPlain

@upintheirons

"The problem is highly likely to be lack of bandwidth that BF have"

AIUI - and I am not an expert here by a long way - the LV should not go through BF's servers or network.

longbridge...

if you see on the 'Buffering issues' thread i have got Betfair speaking to RMG about this...

no idea if they can do anything about how it gets from them to us...

but if you ask me that is the only solution to this.
By:

It's certainly the way to go.  BF are the ones who have the commercial relationship with the provider.

Can someone advise as to which is the most reliable website to watch live racing pictures
(with full screen available) as it looks to me like 365 is the only one that works.

Betfair, Skybet & Hills are all fcuked...so a decent recommendation would be most appreciated.
