I was a member of Isiris in the early 2000s and was mystified why KB had not been giving out the tips on the phone line for many months, then lo and behold he resurfaced one day with a hysterical out of breath message saying he had been kidnapped and held hostage and that the police had told the family to stay quiet about it. He was a wizard at advertising , very high strike rates like 70% then I found out he was giving everything out ew like ev and 7/4, claiming them as winners even though he lost money on them, got away with it for years
Yes i was sucked in by that advertising Know All. The main problem with the service was that if you didn't call exactly on time, just before the race he was tipping main account bets on, then either the price collapsed or you missed the off. So if you were working then it was often difficult to get bets on.

It was 25 years ago Rico, i had a day job so gave it a go for a couple of years. Had i not been working i have to say i could have made a reasonable profit from the service, as it was i still made a small amount. It just became too much hassle with all the callbacks to justify me continuing.
His method was reminiscent of another guy who used to advertise in the Handicap Book over 50 years ago. My Dad fell for it despite my precocious warnings.

Don't know about that salmon as I found it extremely profitable. I was a member for several years until he got put inside for the Brazilian au pair .
Unlike Prince Andrew with Epstein, after K Booths imprisonment I ceased being a member as I had principles and didn't want to be associated.
I used to bet double Stakes on his advices and made around 25k a year back in the late 90s.

He put someone in charge while he was away at her majesty's pleasure to run the daily line, though the 'funniest' thing he did, was he used to record the Sunday review message and put it on the line from inside prison.
Back before any of us knew he was a wrong un it was a terrific racing service.

Very likely yes, and very likely a millionaire from it, carefully worded adverts and expensive to join. The thing is as a tipster if your cheap, people smell a rat. But if you charge a lot they think you must have something good to offer.

Clive holt was a good advertiser full page for many years, lucky enough to know him well, very clever man and liked a laugh, was always at the races betting, he was straight was Clive and loved the racing, up at 6 am every day to do his racing, he had a mansion outside middelham, he learned electric guitar and played at his local pub

oneten.... I agree with you. I was with I*IRIS for three years in late 1990's / early 2000's and found it highly profitable. BUT, you did have to work out a method top get on at the prices he advised.
At first I used to phone through to Billy Hills but they would only give SP. Then, one day, I called them extra fast after a tip. The girl was accepting my bet when over the tannoy at the credit call centre came the instruction 'SP only for xxx' (xxx being the Booth tip).
After that I realised cash was the only way, and so used to call at midday, or whenever it was, to see if there was a tip that day. If there was I would come out of work near the call back and go to a rota of local betting shop and write out the meeting and time of all the races surrounding the call back time itself.
When Booth gave the tip, I'd write in the horse on the appropriate slip and dash to the counter - and always managed to get the price, providing i used different shops. It did catch me out once, though, when he gave out a horse at Kelso on the first call. I was in a shop on my rota but they would only let me have £50 on at 9/4 because they knew my face by then. It won, as well.
He did give Golan for the 2000Gns at a big price as an ante-post bet and Bindaree for the Welsh Grand National in the same way. I backed them both for good money but the shop that took the Bindaree bet played up about paying for a day or so, saying they did not have the £850 cash to hand - and it was a multinational shop!!

But it went wrong when he was carted off to clink and then it was time to stop - which is what I learned from my time with IXIRIS. All good tipsters have great runs but if you happen to be with them in the really good times, best to cut and run when it goes wrong.
Lastly, nobody has mentioned the allegations and rumours against Booth with regard to a certain establishment in India!! All rather nasty if true, but it was a long, long time ago in the 1990's.
