Foinavon's national, that I remember as being in b and w at the time. This is a pathe newsreel but full of interest and great close up shots. Apart from that, the 2 standouts for me was the standing start, all in a line and no problem - whatever happened to that? The other is something that I don't miss today, the sheer brutality of a jockey at the Foinavon fence, one of the last to rejump it, white with black crossbelts, he whips the horse into submission - the poor animal must have wondered what he had on top of him.

What a commentary, 250,000 crowd, absolute carnage in the race and slow motion replays of the falling horses!
