got buffering issues viewing with vpn too, and the RTV tracks don't ever load lol
By:
i think its a 3rd party taking the bets
![]() And the mass evacuation of customers is caused because of the rotation of horse race positions in the active markets ![]() but nobody at betfair listens ![]() |

Someone is typing, please be patient... |

Gruss video RTV pics...OK Live video menu on both....OK IMO. |
By:
t2r, have you finished yet?
By:
Anyone else had it very jumpy last few days on Chrome?
By:
RTV LV been hideously bad here recently swifty...
getting to the 'can i really be arsed with this anymore now' tbh. |
By:
missed the word 'staged' tbh.
By:
'stage' ffs.
By:
The blank screens is one thing, the jumping is new to me recently, you don't know if what jamee says about it respooling and catching up always happens or you're watching it even further behind...unless you want eyes everywhere watching a delayed RTV on Sky at the same time. I agree it does make it all just become 'why bother' territory, I doubt the GPS/drones jump mid-race.

ruk been crap for a lot of races last 2-3 days here
By:
on firefox and chrome
By:
Lazza, (not) pleased to know it's not just me, just seems they never find a long term fix.
By:
Same here on Firefox. Got so bad I've just waited for the replays to load up on RP or TF and watch "as live". Don't bet in running so not an issue but good luck to anyone trying that

The jumping issue is only with vision. The commentary carries on uninterrupted, picture freezes, then jumps back in to match the sound, freezes again, and same cycle again. Tried everything, but I don't think its my end or anything on the PC.
By:
I've noticed it's happening on the US feeds now as well which has never been the case previously.
By:
i've had the glitching for ages swifty...
then it seemed better for about 6 weeks... but it's back now and quite frankly it's worse than it's ever been... i think i had ONE RTV race today that was fine (at Ludlow)... the rest were jumping all over the shop... just another reason to say 'why am i putting myself through this agony ?' tbh. |
By:
doesn't appear to affect EVERYONE swifty...
like i said mine was fine for 6 weeks... absolute cr@p now tho... i thought about mentioning it to Betfair but what's the point...? thanx for your feedback... we'll pass it on to the LV team... all that cr@p. |
By:
I've not had as many issues with it as you Hibby, I put that down to pure luck with servers etc, but this jumping thing is recent. Just another glitch to add to the list. Whether it's the same with all bookies/exchange feeds, using the 'third party' etc etc, I don't know.

Some of the liquidity tonight has been so dire, if you're not as near to live as possible, the scraps won't buy you an egg sandwich.
By:
its obvious you have been singled out and suffer horribly because notfair have decided to target you. outrageous
give it up, for your own sake. its making you unhappy walk away and find another hobby. i say this reluctantly as one of the few joys of the forum is reading your posts, shining as they do like a beacon of truth through the murk. but we will understand, even though your exit will be a great loss |

get out the way numpty. was addressing hippy
By:
type faster, you only had 10 minutes.
You using BFLV or drones now? |
By:
oh i agree swifty...
RTV told me it was to do with how your internet connection connects to the cloud (or something like that)... it's all very odd if you ask me... i've had it for ages on and off but i have no idea how it was 'fine' for 6 weeks then all of a sudden it's really bad again... and as you say in running liquidity is pretty bad now (well very bad actually) and any sort of break up ain't good (even if it doesn't lose any time)... i hear some folk say 'buy a fantastic laptop with a fantastic CPU in it' etc... and yet Mr.Hunt has an old beaten up laptop and it works fine... i think Big Cat is on the 'networking' side of things so he could probably explain it much better than me tbh. |
By:
Unhappyhibby bleating again.
How unusual |
By:
too intererested in saint-saens on r3. and a remarkably fine romanian red
left the drones club longer go. amazed so many still use em. although im useless so it could be me hippy is becoming a bit of a leg end. relentless to borrow from plum again; 'on the whole it is not difficult to tell the difference between a ray of sunshine and a scotsman with a grievance' |

By:
@happyhibby
"RTV told me it was to do with how your internet connection connects to the cloud (or something like that).." AIUI RTV/ATR use a CDN (Content Delivery Network). So they stream the video to the 'master' in the CDN, the master then streams to a number of 'slaves' located all over the country or around the world. When you click on LV on here, you connect to one of those 'slaves' - which won't be the same slave as another poster. So I can be having a horrible jumpy experience, while you have perfect video. "i hear some folk say 'buy a fantastic laptop with a fantastic CPU in it' etc..." I can't see that helping - if you look at the video player in Task Manager when it is running it uses very little of your computer's resources. |

By:
cheers for that longbridge...
i am assuming that is the fastest way to get it from racecourse to my living room so i don't like having a pop at RTV (especially when you consider the nonsense we get from ATR)... but it is a bit annoying tbh... especially when it's been pretty good for 6 weeks and only recently gone back to being poor... in fact the last few days have been really bad... anyway it would appear it's just the way it is and it's a case of take it or leave it... anyway cheers for the info longbridge. |
By:
the fastest way to get the LV from the racecourse to you would be to directly point-to-point stream it from there to you.
But that doesn't scale - RTV couldn't support tens of thousands of connections all to be served simultaneously - so the CDN serves to 'fan-out' the stream. At least that's AIUI - I'm a techie by profession but networking is not my speciality. |
By:
i kind of understand it now tbh longbridge...
it would appear it is as fast as it can be on RTV therefore any 'glitches' i (and others) get just have to be put up with i suppose... even if it does end up with me tearing my hair out come 9pm. |
By:
just one thing longbridge...
who/what decides what 'slaves' each individual user gets ? and can an individual user 'change' slaves themselves ? probably asking daft Q's but when things are as bad as they have been recently you have to ask if there are any options out there to make it better... and as the 6 week 'good' period shows me things can be better than they have been recently. |
By:
I honestly don't know - I'll see if I can find someone who knows this stuff in proper detail and ask.
By:
that would be good to hear longbridge...
ta. |
By:
after a decent start RTV LV is now spluttering all over the place...
no idea how it can just deteriorate like this... wits end stuff now. |
By:
Beverley ok...
KIlbeggan / Warwick / Perth dreadful... no idea how that is possible tbh. |
By:
Perfect for me .
Have you got dial up speed internet unhappyhibby? |
By:
swifty...
spoke to my man at Betfair this morning... he has raised this with the Betfair LV bloke who speaks to RMG... can't promise anything obviously but at least it has been raised to probably the highest level we can get to... RMG know about this (i know that as i've spoken to them myself)... but i think it's better someone at Betfair speaks to them as in running is Betfair specific. |
By:
The very best of luck with this venture.
I am more concerned about "head on city" at Perth because of the lack of an extra camera which makes I/R russian roulette once they turn in. |
