These days you rarely have front runners going clear and making the most of their jumping. If they race as a group then jumping isn't going to be a major factor. He has just bored me rigid again. It's turning racing into a maths lesson. It strikes me with these figures you could take half the fence with you, but if you don't lose momentum, you are somehow a good jumper. Total nonsense.

If you look at the website, it's IP so one assumes RTV are paying for it. All profits back into racing.

I love pretty much anything that involves data and numbers. The problem they have is that (so far at least), the use case is retrospective. And 95% of the time you will have seen what happened with your own eyes, and the data just confirms it. So it's not informative. The jumping algorithm doesn't work as beaten horses are knackered or stopped trying, so it corrupts the score for the few horses that are still trying.

Of course, the final few fences or hurdles are the pivotal ones.

Exactly, if you watch the race you don't need data after the event to tell you how well a horse jumped or not.

in the past the best jocks have used hurdles/jumps to slow a horse down on purpose why would you want a hold up horse flying every obstacle, good case in point listening to mark Walsh comparing how they ask fact or file to jump over 3 miles plus compared how they ask him to jump in Ryanair, if you happy to walk away from styart giving something 20 length start why would you bedwetting about losing half a length and 0.5 mph at an obstacle other than the last one,two, obstacles
