the old nanny ;-) -- Sir Tom has indeed tipstered Inothewayurthinkin and at a price, L'Homme Presse.
But I'd be mildly surprised if any of them will have gone untipped by the day, including all the non-runners.

G luck steve , looks a Big runner , I gave Yeah man a glance ,He is entered in National trial at Haydock on saturday with a few others ,yeah man only 10.3 50-1 for national Ew type
But if he runs well that will be gone , Then he could Bomb and be pulled out

One used to be able to draw a line through ninety percent of the runners. Now, it's a complete lottery. Pardon the pun.
.... I don't even watch it now let alone bet on it but I might follow Rico and have a pony each way on his selection.

For me it is probably Meetingofthewaters again as in last year (1 of 3). I think I am Maximus has to be included too - he won it fairly easily last time; 3rd choice is between Iroko and Inothewayurthinkin. The present Grand National is more of a handicap race over lesser testing fences these days.

Couldnt agree more with Rico , absolutely gutted lto when an insignificant error costs umpteen lengths to a horse that was travelling like a dream . Still doesnt mean I will back it as have Meetingofthewaters @ mid 40s and one hopes 3U35 haha .

imo it was taken wide intentionally 2 out to lose ground..after that it was only nudged into it to nick 4th and £10,000 for 4th..way better than its mark imo..plotted to win a race JP targets.

Inothewayurthinkin is good enough to be placed in a Gold Cup, and should be supplemented for that race. That doesn't mean he will win a Grand National. He isn't a quick jumper, and he likely will end up too far back. Clearly the trainer doesn't see the National as a good fit, so I can only presume (as they say nothing) that the owner has had a little tickle.

The trainer is lying through his teeth, blatantly not off this season, been backed no doubt by his owner and everyone else who has been watching for the National. Pointless going for the GC when it will be 2nd at best. Corbetts Cross may be able to do that for Mcmanus anyway, will know better re that one after the weekend.

I don't see any point in the trainer lying. Where I am struggling is his description of the horse's next run as a 'head scratcher', and why he hasn't just come out and said that the horse should be supplemented for the Gold Cup. He has other runners which he no doubt thinks are better suited to the National. If it isn't a National horse then I would be quite pleased with a second in a Gold Cup. He is better than Corbetts Cross who hasn't even been in the Gold Cup trials. Inothewayurthinkin has improved with each run, despite not getting the softer ground he would have preferred.

I wouldn't listen to trainers, make your own mind up ! put it this way when was the last time a trainer said before a race this will win and it did ,apologies if I am wrong and my memory isn't what it was but I cant recall any !

Inothewayurthinkin has improved with each run... i concur, still has a lot in hand of its current mark,is only a young horse and has improvement to come, will never get a better chance to win a national with 11st 5lb...but of course lots of luck needed.

I have been playing the Grand National AntePost market for longer than I care to think. Over time, I have found that you don't lose by laying JP's horses AP and covering the bets on the day and also that his trainers don't make the decisions.

'Rydal', indeed. Unless JP horses do not show up obviously; JP and his advisors will tell his trainers the principal target/s of his charges. Even Mr Mullins' cannot afford or want another dispute similar to Gigginstown.

In an intriguing move Inothewayurthinkin is set to be parachuted into contention for next week's Gold Cup, prompting bookmakers to make him as short as 7-1 to upset hot favourite Galopin Des Champs at Cheltenham next Friday.
It will cost connections £25,000 to add the JP McManus-owned seven-year-old, trained by Gavin Cromwell, to the Boodles-sponsored showpiece at Saturday's supplementary stage.
After bolting up by eight lengths off top weight in last season's Kim Muir, Inothewayurthinkin followed up in Grade 1 company at Aintree. He returned this season with a seventh in the John Durkan and finished fifth in the Savills Chase but was not entered for the Gold Cup the following month.
Inothewayurthinkin: Inothewayurthinkin: won last season's Mildmay Novices' Chase at Aintree Credit: Michael Steele On his latest start he finished a staying-on fourth to Galopin Des Champs in the Irish Gold Cup, beaten 15 lengths, and connections now appear ready to target the ultimate prize provided ground conditions are suitable.
“I’d say he’ll be supplemented for the Gold Cup as long as there’s soft in the ground,” owner JP McManus’s racing manager Frank Berry told PA.
“There’s only one Gold Cup and he’s well at the minute, but it would be important there’s soft in the description for him to run. The supplementary stage is on Saturday and I’d say that’s the plan. Gavin is happy with him, but there would need to be soft in the ground for him to run, so we’ll see how that goes."
not gud news for rico but surely 33's to be soft...g/s atm and no rain fc for a week.

Not sure id risk him when theres a possible 2 more gold cups in him. JP has an army for the national and Cromwell has 2 other fancied runners from cross country.

if it had placed i think they'd run so long as it was ok, but with the win your first thought is next yrs gold cup and then they're going to sit and ponder whether to go to the well twice with what looks a decent young stayer, jp might say let it go ?

I cannot see the winner running here. I think he's more of a chance of running at Punchestown. He'll be prepped for next year's gold Cup again; JP will have two golden bullets ie Inowotyurthinkin and Fact To File.

Possibly your right isleham The GN IS 3 weeks today now, rather than 4 weeks when Synchronised ran….Its a tough decision, but if he was mine I’d roll the dice.

Think your stake is around £600 Rico, nothing to you, you'll get that back in a day or two. price less than half what you've got now, take a chance and let it ride, or you could trade out half your stake and still have a nice bet. As you say, won't get a better chance at the weights.
