I don't understand what Starmer is getting at. Is he suggesting that if the definition of terrorism
is changed there will be fewer dreadful events like the one in Stockport? Or is he just making excuses for the authorities failing in their duty as happened in Rotherham and, no doubt, many other places? |

You clearly know little about holiday accommodation impossible123. We own 2 cottages next to our house which were converted from farm buildings by the previous owner. They are let on a weekly or sometimes 2 week basis. The planning consent stipulates that they can ONLY be used as holiday accommodation and for a maximum of 30 days per customer. So if I offered them to a homeless family for free I would be breaking the law. As the cottages share our road entrance, it would not be possible to have this changed without knocking down either part of our house or one of the cottages to create a separate entrance. They are not allowed to have a separate postal address (again the council rules) so all mail sent to a guest is addressed to me.

I do agree that many of these multiple murders are committed by loners and are not racial or idealogical. The school shooters in US are usually bearing a grudge against a school, employer etc. So changing the focus of security from terrorist groups to loners with previous convictions is an obvious decision. This dreadful Southport case could have been prevented as the killer had so much previous he should not have been allowed out of a secure facility.

He did report his son several times so what else was he supposed to do? He was known to ALL of the Authorities who had the power to restrain him for years. It is as serious a failing as the Post Office, Rotherham and other recent scandals. And how many with similar mental issues are on our streets right now?

Rudakubana attended Range High School in Formby. He was excluded in October 2019 over incidents including a call he made to Childline in which he said he would take a knife into school.
A week before the Southport attack, on 22 July 2024, Rudakubana booked a taxi to go to Range High School minutes before the school broke up for the summer holidays. He returned to his house after a discussion with his father. Did the father ring the police over the booking of the latter taxi ? |

The court heard shocking details of Rudakubana rampage as horrified relations of the victims listened from the gallery. Prosecuting Deanna Heer KC told the court six-year-old Bebe King was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1pm.
A post mortem found that she had suffered at least 122 sharp force injuries, meaning Rudakubana had kniffed the child over 100 times. the law saw him technically as a child. rare for me, I personally give credit to this judge. almost sounded like a normal person. apparently if they had technically charged him with terrorist killings, he would have been treated as an adult. |
