Have any of these horses been trained at home to enter the stalls?

Handlers training them?

Starter far too tolerant. If they are inconveniencing others, take them out.

sparrow, was it Jack Berry who put his horses through the stalls every morning after work?

I hadn't heard of that one swifty although Jason Weaver once spoke of his time as a youngster at a yard in America and of the strict training regarding stalls entry there.

The biggest problem imo is the stalls at home bare no resemblance to those on course. They tend to be just a basic metal structure, where the race course ones are far more claustrophobic, make more noise and you gave a whole field to go in.

I suppose what irritates people the most is that nobody seems bothered about improving matters and when we see how other countries manage the procedure it makes the UK look a laughing stock.

Totally agree sparrow.

I find it amazing, particularly for the well resourced stables, that they don't have stalls at home that replicate the racecourse ones, to condition the horses before they race. Pay £Millions for a horse but not a few grand for this.Cool

I suppose the ones they use at home are ideal as an introduction to stalls because they are so basic.

Imo the start is part of the race, they should load in stall order, no go in last passes, 3 chances and your gone.

Will be tough on a few but I agree sparrow at the moment it's a free for all shambles.

Too many races go off quite a few minutes late as horses play up. It seems pretty swift in USA.

should be price based.  one refuses to go in, starter - what price is it on the exchange ?  1000.

lead it away.

1.63 - stick the blindfold on it and try again.
